The creature was made entirely of bones. It loomed over them at somewhere around half the height of a tree. It had six extremely long and skinny arms with sharp claws that were completely out of proportion with its body, making it so that the monster had to hunch over and drag its arms as it walked. If it were to stand up straight then it would easily be as tall as a tree.
The creature stared at them with its three hollow sockets for eyes. "Whyyyyy..." it asked again. Kies felt a breeze blow past them and noticed that the creature wasn't actually speaking but Instead, making sounds by blowing air through its gaping mouth. That explained why the creature's voice sounded so strange and why its words were very slow and exaggerated. But he didn't have an explanation for how the creature was able to see them without any eyes.
Kies nudged Ammine who was staring at the giant monstrosity dumbfounded. Judging from her facial expression, she probably hasn't seen anything like this before either. She snapped out of it and then answered the question. *Ahem* "We're here to ask for your help."
"Forrrrrrr..." the creature asked.
"For a war against the humans," Ammine explained to the creature that they were at war with the humans again and they needed their assistance. After Ammine finished explaining, the creature stood there silently staring at them. Neither of them could tell what it was thinking and they could only wait nervously for it to respond.
"Cannnnnotttttt..." the creature answered after a few seconds of silence. It then slowly turned around, breaking branches off the trees and even knocking a few over as it did so. "Weeee... haveeeee... oooourrr... ownnnn... warrrr..."
"Among yourselves," Ammine finished the sentence.
The creature stopped turning and said, "Yoooouuuu... knoooow... Thennnn... leaveeeee..."
"We can help you deal with them," Ammine offered the creature.
The creature stood still. It seemed like it was contemplating whether or not to accept the offer. "Noooo... neeeeed..." the creature said after a moment. It then went back to turning around and then slowly walked away, dragging its enormous hands behind it and leaving a wide trail in the dirt behind it.
The two watched as the creature left and after it disappeared into the darkness, Kies said to Ammine, "Are you sure we should have let it go?"
"It declined our offer so we need to look for another one," said Ammine.
"I think it would've been better if we were to team up with that one and get rid of the rest," said Kies. Although the creature didn't look like it, it was actually very intelligent. In addition, the creature definitely did not look weak. It emitted an aura that was just as powerful as Tornon's. It was definitely not a bad choice to team up with that one.
"It already rejected our offer, we should go find another one. I sense that the undead surrounding us have left. We should go." Ammine started to head back in the direction they came from but Kies stopped her.
"What?"
"Are you absolutely sure that we should let that one go? If we choose another undead then wouldn't we have to fight that thing?" The creature was extremely powerful and he didn't want to have to go against it.
Ammine sighed, "Truthfully, I would rather not fight that thing either. The amount of magic it was leaking was unreal, and I think it matches our king in strength, but we don't have a choice. We can't force something that powerful to accept our help."
Kies looked back at the trail that the creature left. If Kies were to lay on the ground next to the track, he was pretty sure that it would take at least five of him to match just the width of one of its hands. He definitely did not want to have to fight that.
