Haro tilted his head as he continued looking at their surroundings. There were several places in his vision that would occasionally become blurry for a split second before they returned to normal. After a bit more observation, Haro reported his findings to everyone, "I think that the enemy is using a middle-tier illusion spell on us." His reasoning went something along the lines of this: a low-tier illusion spell would definitely not be able to hold them in and although there is the possibility that this was a high-tier illusion spell instead, Haro didn't think that it was because there were too many flaws in it.
Haro goes on to explain that, "The spell covers a wide area and is being supplied a huge amount of magic to keep it going. It won't last for long but I believe that the enemy is using this to delay us as much as possible. If that is the case, we should find a way out of here as fast as possible," Haro explained his deductions.
"Okay, but how do we get out," Bloodmane reminded Haro of his original question.
"Hoot, that is quite simple. We just do this," Haro waved his wings, and a powerful gust of wind flew from them into the air above them. The wind collided with something and the entire area around them became distorted for a moment before returning back to normal. "Hoot, looks like that wasn't enough."
"W-what? What did you just do?" Ammine asked the owl.
"Nothing special really," Haro told her. "I just cast a spell and sent it flying at the illusion. In the end, illusions are just another type of magic. And the fastest way to destroy magic is by more magic," Haro explained. Furthermore, although Haro's attack couldn't break the illusion, he was able to confirm that the illusion spell they were trapped in was indeed only a mid-tier one. If it had been a high-tier illusion spell, his attack wouldn't have collided with anything and would've traveled normally like they were in the real world.
Their next course of action was obvious and simple. Haro tapped Kies's cheek with his wing and said, "Child, you're up."
"Hm? What do you want me to do?" Kies asked the owl.
"Other than you and me, no one else here has a ranged magic attack strong enough to shatter the illusion, and although I could do it myself, this is a good experience for you," Haro hinted at what Kies should do at this moment.
Kies scratched his head and asked, "Which spell should I use then?"
"That is for you to decide, and I'm sure you already have an idea," Haro told Kies.
Kies thought back to the spells that Haro had taught him and chose the one that sounded like it had the most firepower and started chanting it. "Winds, heed my call and serve my will." The winds rushed fiercely to Kie's hands and wrapped around them. Bloodmane, who was caught off guard by the sudden wind brought his arm up to his face and backed a little away from Kies. Ammine looked at Kies with an amused expression. It was her first time seeing him do something like this and she was curious as to what he will do next.
Kies held out his palm above him and aimed it at the sky. "Clear a path for me this instant." Kies felt the winds twirl around his hand rapidly and then rocketed out of his palm at a great force. He slid back a little as the winds left his hands and collided with the illusion. The space around them once again distorted and then broke apart like glass. Reality replaced the illusions until there were none left.
Ammine's amused expression turned to surprise. All the previous times before, she would see Kies just hurl or shoot a small jet or blast of wind as an attack. This attack was on a whole different level than what he could do before. The owl really knew how to teach. It was that, or Kies was just naturally gifted at this since he was an Aeos and his growth is incomparable with any of the other races when it comes to getting stronger, and even more so when it came to wind magic.
"Impressive cub," Bloodmane complimented Kies.
Lisler glanced around and then quickly drew his blade and pointed it at something. "The enemy, where mine blade points." Everyone looked in the direction of his sword and saw a figure emerge from the trees.
"Well done noticing the illusion, but unfortunately, you noticed it a little too late."
