Song Of The Dead III

The young demon looked defiantly at Kies. Even though she was seriously injured, it didn't appear to him that she was going to give up any time soon. In fact, it didn't look like she was going to stop unless one of them fell in battle.

*Rumble!*

The two of them had been so absorbed in their own fight that they had not been paying attention to what was going on around them. Kies looked over to the cause of all the disruption and saw that the fight between the Bone Whistler and the White Witch was growing very intense. Both sides looked exhausted with the witch and the werewolves moving around sluggishly. The Bone Whistler had cracks and dents all over his body. He was also missing several fingers from one of his hands and one of his legs looked like it was going to break at any moment with how many cracks it had.

From just a short glance, it was obvious that the Bone Whistler was losing badly. Other than fatigue, the other side looked perfectly fine. None of the werewolves nor the witch were severely injured or hurt. The other two battles, or rather duels, were also in their favor. Bloodmane was in his red form and was pushing Lisler back. It was a completely one-sided fight since the undead's sword couldn't cut through the werewolf's fur. The only thing that he could do was run around, evading the werewolf.

The other duel between Haro and the lady was also pretty one-sided. Just like before, Haro was flying around above her, casting spell after spell. The lady tried her best to both dodge the attacks from the owl and counterattack.

*Woosh!*

Something flew past Kies' face. He turned to see the demon looking at him. Her eyes were telling him that their fight wasn't over. Kies turned his body back to face the mage. Despite her injury, the demon was standing up straight and tall. She wasn't going to take no for an answer.

The two of them were just about to continue their fight where they left off but were interrupted once again by the cave shaking. The Bone Whistler's leg cracked and split apart, unable to sustain the weight of his body with all those cracks and crashed onto the ground. He let out a horrid screech that shook the entire cavern. The sound knocked Haro out of the air and harmed both allies and enemies alike.

The Bone Whistler had stunned everyone in the cave with the screech. He then proceeded to lift his body up with his massive arms and turn his head until he was facing the ceiling. Kies shook his head and was still dazed from the loud sound but was able to perceive what the Bone Whistler was doing and knew that he had to stop him at all costs. The attack was already as devastating as it is but underground, it was going to be even worse. The Bone Whistler was going to bring the entire place down on them. He knew that he couldn't win the fight so he was planning on taking them all down with him.

The witch was the first one to recover from the attack and immediately began to try to stop the Bone Whistler from getting his attack off. Vines shot up from the grounds and wrapped around the Bone Whistler's arms. They tightened and the pressure began to crack them but it wasn't fast enough. A loud whistle came out of the Bone Whistler's mouth and rattled the cavern. Everyone covered their ears in an attempt to deafen the sound but it didn't exactly help as it was a magic attack and not physical.

The air vibrated and the ceiling began to fall down on them. Kies moved around and dodged the falling rocks and put his hands out and chanted Wind Cannon and shot it at the Bone Whistler. The attack hit the crack on his skull, where his previous Wind Cannon had hit before. However this time, it did more than just stun for a second. The attack blew apart the side of the Bone Whistler's skull and sent the monster toppling over onto the rocky floor.

The Bone Whistler pushed itself back up with one of his arms just enough so that it could look at Kies. He was missing more than half of his head but was somehow still alive. The Bone Whistler opened what was left of his mouth but was unable to make a sound. In a last desperate struggle, the giant monster punctured a giant hole in its torso and used that as a replacement for his mouth.

Kies chanted Wind Cannon again and fired it at the Bone Whistler, aiming for its body where the hole was. The Bone Whistler saw what Kies was doing and moved his arm over to block the attack. His bulky arms blocked Kies' entire attack, however not without a price. The winds blasted off a huge chunk of the Bone Whistler's arm. At this point, the cave was on the verge of completely being destroyed and burying everyone. Kies chanted Wind Cannon for the third time and final time as he didn't have the magic power to chant it a fourth time and shot it at the Bone Whistler's arm.

The attack shaved away another chunk of the monster's arm, but it wasn't enough to break it. The arm was still intact, but however, the Bone Whistler started to shake, or at least that was what Kies thought he saw since the entire cave was shaking. But as it turned out, what Kies saw was correct. Unable to support the weight, the Bone Whistler fought to keep his body up but eventually, the remaining parts of his arm cracked, and the monster fell to the floor with a loud crash.

For a moment, everything was silent. Everyone uncovered their ears and all turned to the Bone Whistler. The monster was lying motionless on the ground. Kies really hoped that he wouldn't get up again as he didn't have enough magic power to cast another Wind Cannon.

"Is it dead?" one of the werewolves hesitantly asked. He wasn't the only one with that question. Everyone else in the room also wanted to know. Another werewolf cautiously walked over to the Bone Whistler and gave the body a hard kick. The Bone Whistler didn't budge at all despite the force behind that kick. A few seconds passed and there was no reaction from the giant monster.

"It seems like it," the werewolf announced to everyone. A loud cheer arose from the werewolves as they celebrated the victory. Another one of the werewolves came over and slapped Kies on the back for landing the finishing blow, else none of them would be alive.

"Ha, a shame it is," Lisler sheathed his sword and surrendered.

"You coward, you're just going to give up just like that!?" Bloodmane challenged the undead to continue their fight but he shook his head.

"There is no point. Mine dull blade cannot cut you. Should we continue our duel, the outcome is clear as the day is bright."

The lady on the other hand continued fighting against Haro and was eventually subdued by him as she lost most of her will to fight since he had lost her reason to continue fighting.

The timing was right on point too. The mage that had been fighting against Kies collapsed from blood loss. Kies ran over and checked on her. She was on the verge of dying, but luckily for her, the witch knew some healing magic. She walked over to the two, lifted the mage up into a bed made of vines, and healed the wound that Kies gave her in a matter of seconds.

"Phew. I'm glad that's over," said Fae. He walked over to Kies and thanked him. "Anyway, where did that companion of yours go? If she had been here, things would have been a whole lot easier."

Kies didn't know either. Ammine had flown off in search of the Bone Whistler by herself and could be anywhere in this forest. The last place she would probably check was underground since it was really unexpected for him to be down here. In other words, Kies would have to go and find her which is something he didn't know how he would manage considering how vast the forest was. He will have to ask the witch to help him locate her.

While everyone else was celebrating, Kies saw that Haro and Bloodmane were standing away from the group with a strange look on their faces. The two of them looked at one another and said something to each other. They were too far away for Kies to hear but he saw the concerned looks as they exchanged words with each other.

They both nodded their heads. Bloodmane turned to everyone and announced something worrying. "I sense something dangerous slowly walking down that tunnel to us right now."
