A Contest Of Strength IV

"That was the attack that you lost to last time. Looks like you learned your lesson." Reepmn made a grabbing gesture with his hand and the broken chains flew into the chain wall, becoming a part of it. The chains then unraveled and all shot outwards in every direction, traveling a moderate distance before all of them suddenly turned towards Allal.

The demoness parried more than half of them with her axe and then jumped away as the other half dug into the ground where she just was. But she wasn't safe from them just yet. The chains tunneled through the earth and appeared under her. They tangled around her legs and pulled her down. "Gah! Get off me!" But they didn't restrict her for very long as the heat of the fire on her axe easily melted the chains when she brought it near them. She kicked the molten metal off her legs, seemingly unaffected by how hot it was.

Allal jumped back on her feet and slammed it onto the ground. "Flames, come to me!" The fire from the pillars all began to flow and pour to the axe.

Reepmn smiled and threw both his hands up. "Chain Hurricane!" The wall of chains unfolded and started spinning in a circular motion.

Kies felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up at Tornon. "Let's get away from here." Kies looked back at the crowd and saw that almost everyone had already moved far away from the two. And the few that had yet to move away were creating barriers and walls between the two and the huts to make sure that they wouldn't get caught in the crossfire.

Kies followed the demon king and moved away from the two as both of their magics grew bigger and bigger. The Chain Hurricane spell that Reepmn cast really lived up to its name as it looked like an actual hurricane. Ammine was right, if Reepmn had gone all out when he fought him, he definitely would have been killed.

"Reveal your fiery form Ifrit!" All around Allal the ground cracked and ruptured with fire. A pair of giant hands made of fire reached up from beneath and grabbed the earth. The black flames suddenly changed color from black to red and orange, the color of normal fire. An enormous creature with two horns like a demon pulled itself up from the lava that now started to pour through the cracks.

"What is that?" Kies asked Tornon and Ammine.

"Allal inherited the blessing of the legendary fire demon Ifrit and can call upon him whenever she wants to. Though I don't think I need to tell you, that right there is the fire demon Ifrit. And before you ask why that demon looks so different and is so much bigger than us is because he is from an ancient race of demons that used to rule the world long ago. We demons, the ones that you see all around you right now, pale in comparison to them," Ammine explained.

"It's a shame really. If they were still alive, they would still be ruling over this world. I wouldn't dare call myself the king of demons if even a single one of them were still alive," Tornon added.

"Are they that much more powerful than you?" Kies felt the magic power radiating from the giant fire demon and it was pretty overwhelming, but it was still plenty weaker than Tornon's.

"Allal can only call out a small fraction of Ifrit's power. Hmm, if I were to compare Ifrit when he is at full strength to someone like the Stormcaller, they're about equal," said Tornon. "If you find that hard to believe, just see for yourself how powerful he is when he is only at a small fraction of his true strength."

Kies looked back at the fight and saw that the two demons were going wild at each other. Reepmn was doing his best to use his chains to chain down the giant fire demon while avoiding attacks from Allal at the same time. The chains from his hurricane were constantly hitting the fire demon but it didn't seem to do anything more than irritate him.

Allal and Ifrit continuously pushed Reepmn back and it really looked like he was going to lose. He fell back to the edge of the arena where the barriers separating their fight from the outside were. The two closed in on the kill on Reepmn, and when it looked like he was going to lose, Reepmn started laughing out loud.

"Ahahahaha! This is it! Come out Maiden of Steel!" Chains appeared from the ground and entangled Reepmn, wrapping around him until he was completely surrounded by chains. Allal's and Ifrit's attacks bounce off the giant steel chain ball. The two of them backed off as the ball grew a body, then arms and legs, and then finally a head. A steel sword appeared in her hands and the steel maiden sliced down on the giant fire demon, splitting him right down the middle.

"GAHHHHH!" Ifrit howled out in agony as he melted back into the ground, submerging back into the magma. With her other hand, the maiden pointed it at Allal. Chains were created from thin air and wrapped around her until she was completely subdued.

"My victory. Wouldn't you agree?" Reepmn's voice echoed from somewhere inside the Maiden of Steel's body.
