Allal struggled against the chains for another good minute or so before she finally gave in and surrendered to Reepmn. "It's your win." The chains loosened and Allal got back up and retracted all her flames. Reepmn also did the same to his magic and made all the chains he created disappear in a matter of just seconds.
"You two are done fighting right!?" yelled a demon from somewhere behind a stone wall.
"We're finished!" Reepmn yelled back. The Maiden of Steel slowly faded into magic particles and as he descended back down onto the ground.
After it was confirmed that the two were done fighting, the barriers and walls around the arena all fell and demons came to the center to start repairing the ground which was riddled with cracks and holes. Kies thought that it was going to take a while to repair but surprisingly, it only took around five minutes for the entire place to be reverted back to its original appearance.
Reepmn walked over to where Kies was standing, glancing at him and giving him a sour expression before turning his face to Tornon. "That's settled then, you'll be sending me as well."
"I was planning to send you even if you didn't win, but you still insisted on joining the brawl anyway."
"It's boring to sit out and watch. Nevertheless, I agree with your decision to send everyone else you picked except for him," Reepmn pointed at Kies. "He's too weak to be of any use to us, so why is he also part of the teams?"
"Wait, I'm part of the rescue team?" Tornon hadn't said anything to Kies about him going along to rescue the demons.
"I was going to tell you about it sometime later, but yes, you and Ammine are also going to be going to help rescue the demons. There will be two squads dispatched: one for Otane and the second for Silverfield. You and Ammine along with a few others will be going to Silverfield to observe them and see the current status of the kingdom after the previous battle and report anything of importance back to me, while Reepmn and Allal will be part of another team sent to rescue the three demons from Otane," Tornon told him and Ammine.
"Yeah, and I don't agree with that decision when you can replace him with any one of us." Reepmn waved his hand behind him to indicate that any one of the demons in the village will probably be a better pick than Kies. Well, Kies didn't really care if he wasn't sent there or not since all he wanted to do was practice magic. Either worked for him.
"How dare you doubt-" Tornon put his hand in front of Ammine to stop whatever it was that she was going to say.
"I have two reasons why I chose him instead of someone else. One, it would be nice for us to get someone who knows how to navigate around Silverfield, and two, he's not as weak as you think he is."
"Really now? I'd like to see him win against any one of us. Hey you lot, come here!" At Reepmn's word, five demons came over and looked at him with confused faces.
"What do you want?" one of them asked.
Reepmn turned to Kies and said, "If you can take on any one of them, I won't have any complaints about you going on this mission."
"No, you'll probably still have something to complain about if he wins against them," said Ammine. "Instead, why not have him fight against me to prove himself?" she suggested.
"You? He needs more than a miracle to win against you. If he does beat you, then I swear on my life that I will never say anything about him again."
"Then it's settled. Kies come with me to the ring."
"What's going on?" The five demons looked at each other.
"Don't know, it looks like they're fighting. Ammine and that human look alike."
"This isn't a fight I want to miss, though the winner is pretty obvious."
All around Kies, the demons looked at him and Ammine as they made their way to the middle of the ring. When it became apparent what was going on, a crowd started to form again.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" It was probably too late to ask this question as they were already in the center of the ring. Kies was not confident that he would be able to beat Ammine.
"Don't sweat it. Even if you lose, as long as you put up a good enough fight, Reepmn can't say anything. And also, I'm curious about how much stronger you got since after all, you did take down the Bone Whistler didn't you?"
Ammine did some stretches before saying, "Alright, I'm ready. I hope you are too. Let's start."
