Untamed Torrent III

The winds gathered around Kies' severed arm and brought it back to him. He reattached the arm back to his body like it was some sort of a puzzle piece and then got up from the ground. "That was a close one. You almost got me there." The cut on Kies' chest had been pretty deep and he had been checking if it had reached his core. Luckily, it was just a tiny bit too shallow and barely missed his core.

"Now that I have woken up, it's time for me to get serious." Kies wasn't going to make the same mistake twice and let the cardinal catch him off guard. "First of all, I will pay you back for embarrassing me like that."

"How dare you!?" The cardinal didn't hear a single word that Kies said to him because he had been too busy healing his injuries. His wings were gone and there were now tiny stubs in place of where they were before. "I will kill you! God need not waste his time with you, I'll punish you myself!"

"You will? I find that a little hard to believe."

Kies' taunting caused the cardinal to lose his temper even more. He didn't let Kies say another word and charged at him with his sword.

"Dodge it!" Falte shouted at him. It should go without saying that Kies wouldn't get taken down by the same attack a second time, but Falte wanted him just in case he decided to do the same exact thing and try to guard against it.

To his horror, that's exactly what Kies was doing. Instead of dodging or doing something else, Kies stood still and raised his arm. The sword came down on him and the same exact scenario would have played out if it weren't for a slight difference in the thing that happened.

"Trying the same thing again? You really need to learn some new tricks." A wave of air slammed the cardinal into the dirt the moment he got close to Kies. The winds dug into his back like claws and kept him pinned down.

"Gah! S-set me free this instant else you will face God's divine wrath!" the cardinal threatened Kies. He continued to sprout a whole bunch of nonsense at Kies who ignored everything he said. He was in his own world yelling at the top of his lungs while Kies was also spaced out trying to figure out something.

"I don't have much time left..." The spirit could feel his link to the body gradually weakening. He could only stay in it for another minute or so. But that was more than enough.

Kies smiled and looked down at the cardinal who was at his mercy. "God this, God that. Don't you ever shut up?"

"You dare question my authority!?"

"What? When did I ever say that?" Kies couldn't understand what the cardinal was saying anymore. "You know what? Since you love God that much, why don't I send you to meet him? I'm sure he will be glad to see you up there with him," Kies pointed at the sky.

"What did you say to me, you fiend!?"

"Ah, forget it. Enjoy the trip." Kies snapped his fingers and the air around him began to hiss. His appearance became distorted and then he suddenly vanished with the winds. The winds restricting the cardinal suddenly went away as well and he immediately jumped up onto his feet, unsure of what was going on.

"Up here," a voice boomed in the sky. Everyone looked up and saw tens of currents of winds bend together until a twister was formed. It drew in all the clouds around it and began descending down onto the ground.

The cardinal's face paled as he just realized something. "Y-you... You're the one who destroyed my barrier!" But no one could hear him as his voice was drowned out by the sound of the storm. The winds grabbed him and took him up into the air. "Huh!?" Before he had the chance to even say anything, he was brought into the torrent of winds and torn apart into pieces by the powerful winds until there was nothing left of him.

His fellow followers of God could only watch as their cardinal was killed and they all began to flee one by one in fear of them being next. But Kies didn't pay any attention to them. His target was the cardinal and him only, and he had already accomplished what he needed to do. The rest of them weren't a problem. The demons could easily hunt them down before they could escape.

But for safety's sake, Kies decided to strike down the ones who were getting too far so that they wouldn't be able to report any of this. Well, it wasn't like they needed to since practically the entire city could see what was happening here in the slums. But the less information that they get, the better.

"What are you all doing? Take them down," Kies told the demons as he reappeared in front of them.

"What? Can't you just kill all of them too?" Falte asked.

"Yes, but that would take away the fun. I want to see you tear their hearts out."

The demons looked at each other. Whs in the world was this person that was in front of them. Even though it was pretty obvious that it wasn't Kies since the beginning, they really wanted to know now.

"Well, I guess I'll just kill them all myself if you don't want to," Kies said with a disappointed voice, though his face didn't match his words. The demons could see a glint of excitement as he raised his hand and called down the winds to take care of every single survivor there was.

"That should be all of them," Kies slowly brought his arm down. There were more than a hundred of them in the area even though he counted no more than twenty of them here when the cardinal died. Well, it didn't matter. They were all gone so there was nothing left to worry about.

"Looks like my time's up."
