The spirit felt its link to the body break. "Well then, apologize to him for me, will you? I said I'd take care of this body but I almost got him killed instead. Farewell."
"Wait," Falte stopped the spirit. "Before you leave, I need to ask-"
"Are you the Stormcaller?" Ammine interrupted what he was about to say.
The spirit looked emotionlessly at her, its connection to the body rapidly fading. It took him a moment to answer her question. "No," he told them. "I am not the Stormcaller. Although, I do find it amusing for you to think so."
"Then who or what are you?"
"What am I? I am a wind elemental. As for who, I have no name. I am just another nameless spirit roaming this world."
"Nameless? There's no way you don't have a name. You're this powerful after all," Falte said. He didn't believe that someone as powerful as him didn't have a name.
Kies smiled. "If you really want to know, I do have a name. But it has long been forgotten. I am Suen, the Spirit of the South Wind. I happened upon the crystal you found and made a home out of it for some time, but it looks like it's back in its proper place."
"Wait, if it's possible, is there any way for you to stay with us even when you leave Kies' body?"
"Hm? Kies... So that is his name. Interesting... Kies..." The spirit didn't seem to care about the question as much as he cared about what Kies' name is. "Kies... Kiestrel? No... Kiyratel..." Suen's eyes lit up as Suen figured out something. "Ha... Hahaha. How absurd. Never would I have guessed..." Suen left Kies' body without answering Falte's question and faded into the winds.
"Wait! What about my question!?"
"I think the answer's pretty clear. He's not going to join us," Ammine told him. If Suen was interested then he wouldn't have left right after leaving Kies' body.
"You're right..." It was a shame to lose such a powerful ally, but there was nothing they could do to get Suen to stay. Unless they had another fragment to offer him like the one they chased him out of, he had no reason to stay.
"Anyway, did you hear what he was muttering about before he left?"
"No, I couldn't hear it. But I think it had something to do with Kies' name."
"Yeah, I figured that too, but what exactly does it have to do with his name?"
"I don't know. More importantly, shouldn't we be getting out of here now?" Ammine pointed out. They may have taken care of the enemies, but more were definitely coming as they were speaking right now. There was no way that the army would stay quiet after witnessing a giant tornado come down from the skies.
"Oh, yes, we better move," Falte agreed. Even if there weren't any people coming, they knew that they were here now after that fight. They needed to find a new spot to hide in for now. They had no reason to stay here anymore since Falte had sent an emergency message back to Tornon saying that their location had been compromised. They will need to find a new place to set up camp.
"By the way, where's that dragon?" Falte asked. They had left the baby dragon with Jasyeu because it felt the most comfortable with her but now it was missing. Now that he thought about it, maybe they shouldn't have left a child to a child. It was a terrible idea.
"Oh." Ammine just noticed as well that the baby dragon was missing. "Oh boy..." She turned to Jasyeu and asked her about it to which she got an unsatisfactory answer.
"..."
Jasyeu had let the baby dragon down when they were searching for the fragment. After that, they left immediately and had forgotten all about the dragon.
"We will have to head back for it," Falte sighed. "But before that, who is going to carry him," he pointed at Kies who was on the floor unconscious.
Even though Falte asked that, the answer to that question was quite simple when using the process of elimination. Jasyeu was too small to carry Kies, Messa was still recovering, he himself lacked the strength. The only person who could carry Kies is Ammine.
Everyone looked at her and Ammine raised an eyebrow at Falte for even asking that question in the first place. She went over to Kies and picked him up. She threw his limp body over her shoulder and looked at everyone.
"What are we waiting for? Let's move!"
The group headed back to the place where they had left the baby dragon. Along the way, they encountered dead bodies that belonged to the followers of the church. A few of them were struck down by them when they were trying to get through the barrier to Kies while most of the had been killed by Suen. It was incredible how much magic power he had since it wasn't easy to take down all of them from up to a kilometer away.
None of them, not even Messa who had the best magic sensory ability were able to tell how much magic Suen had. That only meant that he either had no magic power at all or his magic power is beyond their ability to even be able to sense it.
In other words, Suen is stronger than their king and is even above that dragon that they met in the sewers. Such a powerful being... How have they not heard of his name until now?
It was a shame. Falte really wanted to try to convince him to join their side and fight against the humans but sadly he disappeared right after.
"We're almost there," Ammine told everyone. The rows of battered houses where they had found the crystal were right in front of them now, but something felt off.
Falte slotted something concerning in the corner of his eye and pointed it out to the rest. "Hey... What's that?"
