Before The Nightmare

Three years would pass it would be three years now till Schaffe would meet Jess outside of Albany. Schaffe and they have moved out of their old base and into an old firehouse near a settlement and have been working hard to pay off their debt to the Brotherhood of Steel. They were taking a picture with Sara who was just promoted to Paladin since her mission is almost complete with them as they are almost done paying their debt. They were in the kitchen.

"Well, our time is almost up," said Sara. Her hair has grown more out passed her neck to the middle of her back.

"You could always join us and say screw the brotherhood," said Ian.

"I made it this far. I am probably going to die with them it is better than anything else," said Sara.

"I am just glad we are almost done with them," said Phil.

"Yeah, we can make money for ourselves now," said Ian.

"I had an idea maybe we can start a store where we can sell the weapon we found on the jobs," said Schaffe.

"Not a bad idea," said Phil. "It's better than hoarding them."

"Well, I may have got our last mission together," said Sara.

"Ah, sweet where is this," said Schaffe.

"There is a refugee camp in Philadelphia trying to become a settlement," said Sara.

"Oh, but we are in New York?" questioned Phil.

"Have any of you had a ride in an airship before?" asked Sara.

"Whoa for real? We get to ride that big airship," said Ian with excitement.

"I guess we have no choice in it," said Schaffe.

"if it's our last job might as well go out in style," said Phil.

"Yay," said Ian. They go and head to the airship which was at the brotherhood base where they wore light armor for brotherhood soldiers. They have no idea what will unfold when they get there as this is when the Diablo Massacre would unfold.

Schaffe was looking on an overview deck looking at the sky as they flew by them.

"Man, to think I would be flying in an airship," said Schaffe. Phil comes out and sees him.

 "Here you are," said Phil.

 "What's up?" asked Schaffe.

Nothing just seeing where you were," said Phil. He goes up and leans on the bar next to him.

"It has been a whacky ride," said Schaffe.

"I say. You know what today is?" asked Phil.

"Ah, Wednesday if I pay attention," said Schaffe.

"No, you stupid idiot. It has been five years since we met," said Phil.

"Ah, shit. Your right. Five years since I left the vault," said Schaffe.

"Yeah. So, how does it feel you survived five years in hell?" asked Phil.

"Shit, I did not expect this when I got out," said Schaffe.

"Well, I may have good or bad news," said Phil.

 "What? Another debt?" asked Schaffe.

"No. I just found out I have a son," said Phil.

"Really? Damn, I feel bad for her," said Schaffe with a chuckle.

"Hey, now. It's not that he is thirteen now," said Phil.

"Oh, Man he already that old?" asked Schaffe. "You were twelve when he was born?"

"Hey, I was a young man back then who started to knowtist girls," said Phil. "Anyway, I think when we get back, we go find him. I hear he some pickpocket in the apple."

"I guess I am fine with it," said Schaffe. "But last, I checked you hated kids. What made you change?"

"I meet cool guys who became my best friends not they became my brothers in a way," said Phil.

"Brothers, I guess it's better than being dead," said Schaffe.

"Yeah," said Phil. "We just have to do this one job and we will be free." This would be their last conversation before Phil would turn his back on them.
