Infiltration Mission

"Where are we going?" Luke asked in puzzlement after being led by Arian into a jungle where people's presence is nowhere to be seen.

"Less talking, do more." Arian shortly replied, which caused the corner of Luke's mouth twitched.

Pursing his lips tightly, Luke obediently shut his mouth and silently followed his guidance. After a couple of minutes of venturing through many trees, Luke saw an unnoticeable narrow path that leads toward the deeper side of the forest. As he walked, he realized that the number of trees on both sides was gradually lessening.

Suddenly, Luke paused at his steps not due to obstacles, but because he saw an enormous building existed in the middle of the forest.

"What are you stopping for? Let's go." Arian said before he resumed his pace.

Luke nodded his head and soon followed Arian like a child as he stared at the building with an admiring and curious gaze. Shortly after, both he and Arian arrived in front of the building. Now, Luke can look at the building at a short distance. He noticed there are two men with tall figures stood guardedly on each side of a door.

Nodding his head at the two guys, Arian proceed closer and placed his badge over the scanner attached to the door.

The door emitted a sound before creaked a little. Pulled it lightly, Arian immediately went inside along with Luke.

Once they entered, Luke flinched in scared due to the abrupt door shutting. Cursing the door's creator inwardly, Luke's mouth then gaped at the view before his eyes.

"This is LSA Warehouse #1. Since Elder Wayne has trusted you to be my partner, I hope you understand that this place was confidential. Hence, you must keep everything here within your mind and don't ever try to disclose to other people." Arian warned.

Luke couldn't bother with Arian's warning since his mind was already preoccupied with the things in front of him the moment his eyes spotted them. Across him were many racks, with each spot got filled with weapons and other things he couldn't discern.

Realizing Luke wasn't paying attention to his words, Arian snapped his finger directly in front of his face, "Do you understand?"

Awakened from his thought, Luke rapidly nodded his head.

"Follow me. We need to arm ourselves for our mission." Arian said as he walked ahead, leaving Luke completely dumbstruck by his words.

'What mission would need this type of weapons? It's more like I'm about to go to war.' Luke thought scaredly as he stared at Arian's back full of doubt.

Since Luke learned about many kinds of weapons in battle class, he could recognize some of the weapons displayed on the racks. Despite having the temptation to touch these weapons, Luke didn't dare to touch them carelessly under Arian's surveillance.

Due to immersed in his own world, Luke didn't realize Arian already stopped and ended up bumping his back. Rubbing his red-nose in pain, Luke see Arian side-glance him and said, "Pay attention."

"Sorry." Luke apologized before asking, "Why did you stop, anyway?"

Ignoring him, Arian turned to his front of again and spoke, "Did my item has arrived?"

'So, there's another person here.' Luke silently shifted his body to see clearly. It was a guy wearing a formal suit with black eyeglasses on. In all, his appearance could be described as a secret agent he usually saw in movies.

"Yes, the item you requested is already in a perfected state instead of the prototype ones." The man opened the suitcase he been held and show the thing inside to Arian and Luke. Surprisingly, it wasn't a secret weapon as Luke expected. It was a smartwatch. No matter which side Luke see it, it looked like an ordinary smartwatch.

Picking the watch, Arian inspected it carefully before a rare smile formed on his usual expressionless face, "Indeed. It's looking more polished than before."

Wearing it on his left wrist, Arian returned to his expressionless face and thanked the man, "Thank you."

The man nodded his head, "It's our pleasure to be able to introduce our newest product. Sooner, we'd launch another new invention, but that time, we planned to introduce it on a world scale. Make sure Elder Wayne attend when that time comes."

"I'll make sure he'll come."

After that, the man left, leaving Luke and Ariana alone by themselves.

"Let's go choose your weapon," Arian said after watching the man's silhouettes disappear.

"Okay!" Luke responded excitedly.

Arian and Luke circling the whole warehouse for a few minutes before stopping at the rack where a black knife lay dreadfully. Lifting the knife, Arian scrutinized it before handing it to Luke, "Grab this and try to swing it."

Accepting the knife, Luke retreated a few steps away from Arian before swing it in the open air. He performs some basic movements such as stabbing and slashing before concluding the weapon was light and not too heavy, really suitable for him. But why does he need a knife? Aren't Aisyl say the task LSA often gives to its students was to assist the police? Did protecting citizens need a sharp knife like this?

Deep inside Luke's heart, he already knows the answer that probably his mission wouldn't be assisting police. But, at the thought of his rank was only T9, he believed that Elder Wayne wouldn't be that ruthless by sending him into a dangerous mission...Couldn't he?

Luke wanted to ask about his mission when Arian said, "Good, keep that weapon. Now we just need a range-type weapon for you."

Forcefully swallowing the words he about to convey. Luke nodded his head and decided to ask about it when they are done choosing him a weapon.

Like before, they strolled around for a couple of minutes before stopped at a rack where a gun with red-white striped colour lays. Handing the gun over Luke, Arian spoke, "Let's go test ur weapon real might."

"Test my weapons?" Luke mumbled in confusion but nevertheless heeded over Arian command.

...

"Wow...I never expected there would be a target dummy here." Luke muttered in awe. The warehouse was so huge that it could contain many objects, including target practice ground.

"Wait here. I'm gonna bring out the ammo and sta-" Before Arian finishes his sentence, Luke quickly interrupts him, "Wait! I have one question."

Arian didn't say anything, but his gaze was questioning him silently.

"Cough, what mission would us carry out?" Luke coughed to hide his nervousness.

Being stared by Luke's nervous gazes, Arian replied after went silent for a moment, "Infiltration mission."

At that moment, Luke's heart sank.
