The test was simple: defeat the opponent in front of you. And in front of Hasha was a C rank Hunter, red armored and had a long yellow sword. For those who weren't hunters or happened to be a beginner or just awakened even an E-ranked Hunter would have been a tough opponent. It was clearly an unfair test.
However, Hasha wasn't worried nor did he feel unfair. That's because he was strong.
Hasha smiled, "So that's what Brother Ushio meant when he said let's see?"
Hiro inside, "But still isn't C rank little too much for a beginner. Are they trying to see if I have trained or not? And can those trained F rank beat C rank once they complete their training." Hiro inside was confused.
Ushio and Mina were watching from the side.
Murama pointed his long yellow sword to Hasha. He was furious. "Are you ready?" he said.
"Wow! He looks angry," Hiro thought.
"Wait, let me get ready," Hasha said.
Ushio was curious, "Ooh! How is he going to get ready now?"
Hasha looked at Murama; a tall, blonde C rank Hunter, equipped with Red armor and a yellow long sword.
Murama was in his late twenties and was the same height as Hasha. He was slim while Hasha was muscular.
Hiro, "A C-rank hunter for a beginner but why am I so relaxed? Is it because I am Hasha right now or is it because of Hasha's level? I wonder how powerful is my game player character compared to these Hunters?"
"Battle costume - Full golden armor," said Hasha.
Golden light glowed over Hasha's body. Then Hasha's whole body was covered with heavy full-body polished golden and black armor. A golden helmet appeared in his left hand.
Ushio, Mina, and Murama were shocked.
Hasha was confused but had a calm expression.
Hiro inside, "Hmm! Did I do something wrong?"
"Magic and armor," Ushio was surprised. "I thought he was just some recently awakened but he already knows magic and has armor." Ushio looked at Mina at his side, "Doesn't that mean he is already an F-rank."
"Didn't you say he hadn't registered? Then he is not an F-rank or Hunter Trainee," Mina said, "And you do know there are many other ways to learn and obtain magic and armor."
"Uh! Yes," Ushio replied and looked at full armored Hasha.
Murama was also surprised and was observing Hasha.
"Magic and armor are taught and given to only Hunters or F-rank who have registered after awakening but Mina said he isn't an F-rank and had just registered today but how did he," Murama thought, "You can learn some magic and get armor if you throw in some money or from the black market or from training with others Hunters. Did he also trained outside with other Hunters?"
Hasha put on his golden helmet that revealed his front face. With his heavy full-body golden armor on he looked bulky and intimidating.
He raised his right hand to his right side. "Slayer," he called.
A long light appeared in his right hand and revealed a large silver sword, 'Slayer'. Slayer was a big, pointed double-edged silver sword.
Once again, they were surprised.
"What?? A sword?," Ushio said, "He may not be registered and F-rank but I think he has trained outside ." Ushio looked at Mina, "Doesn't this mean he is trained?"
Mina said, "Just by having armor, a sword and one magic spell doesn't mean he is trained. Besides, the most important thing is how much he is trained and is he ready even to be an E rank. Do you know there was some F-rank who left their training in the middle thinking they were already strong and had learned enough to start as a hunter don't you Ushio?"
"I heard they were heavily defeated," said Ushio.
"That's right!" Mina said, "We just have to watch for now."
Murama looked at Hasha's heavy golden armor and the large silver sword. Ha said with a serious expression, "That's some expensive armor and sword you got there."
"Uh! Thank you," said Hasha.
Hasha was now wearing heavy golden armor and a helmet. With the heavy armor and large sword, he looked bulky and menacing.
"Where did you get the sword?" Murama asked with a serious expression.
"What! What should I say?" Hiro panicked, "It's not like I can say this is a game sword that became real. Let's just say I bought it."
"I bought it," Hashsa said with a calm face.
"So you bought it," Murama said, "Do you know that only Hunters and F-rank with identification can buy weapons. So how come an unregistered awakened like you bought it?"
Ushio and Mina were also thinking the same.
Hiro inside, "Shit! I didn't know that! Now, what should I say?"
Even though Hiro was panicking inside Hasha, outside Hasha had a composed expression.
"To tell you the truth I borrowed it," said Hasha (Hiro inside)
"From the one who trained you," asked Murama. Murama still had serious expressions.
"Yes! Yes! I borrowed it from my teacher, no master - the one who trained me," Hashsa said with a straight face.
"So you weren't recently awakened and had been training till now outside," asked Murama.
"Yes! That's right! I have been training till now," Hashsa said with a straight expression.
"Phew! He cornered me himself and freed me himself," Hiro was relieved.
"Hmm! His expression and words don't match," Murama thought.
Ushio said, " So he did train outside."
"We thought you were just an awakened person making a fuss to make him a Hunter as soon as possible," Murama pointed his long yellow sword to Hasha, " But it seems you were a trained person. Then shall we see if you are trained enough or not?"
Ushio smiled. He thought, "Get ready Hasha! He isn't going to take it easy just because you are just a beginner."
"I am ready," Hasha said with a serious face.
Murama looked at Hasha's posture. Hasha was just standing still full of opening, no stance just carrying a big sword.
"Is he taking this lightly or does he think his armor can save him," Murama thought, "Then I will finish this with one move."
Murama wielded his long yellow sword with two hands, put his right leg behind, bent his front leg a little, raised his hands, sword up to his chest, sword pointing in front. It was inside stance
"Physical enhancement," Murama chanted. The spell strengthened his body.
Murama ran towards Hasha with few steps and jumped towards Hasha extending his sword with speed. He was trying to thrust his sword into Hasha's chest.
As Murama's sword was getting closer, Hasha used his large blade sword as a shield.
'Clang' Murama's straight sword attack was blocked by Hasha's large sword which he used as a shield.
Murama jumped back and got in the same inside stance. "Mana sword," he cast. His yellow sword was filled with his mana. M ana was oozing out of the long yellow sword.
"Here he comes and with greater power," Hasha thought.
Murama once again took a few steps and jumped toward Hasha with great speed. It was the same attack as before but with a sword filled with mana.
'Clang' There was a bigger clash sound and a small shockwave.
Hasha blocked the attack in the same way as previous; using the sword as a shield.
"He blocked it without being pushed back," Murama was shocked.
Ushio touched his glasses, "He easily blocked it."
Murama didn't back off. He swung his mana-filled sword diagonally from the same position with two hands.
Hasha stepped back and dodged the sword.
Murama swung his sword again horizontally.
Hasha also swung his large sword with one hand to block the attack.
'Clang' Their sword clashed and gave a loud sound.
Murama didn't stop attacking Hasha with his aura-filled sword. Hasha also kept swinging his sword to block the attack.
Only loud sounds and small shock waves could be heard and felt.
"I can see his movements," Hasha thought while blocking Murama's attack. "His attacks are strong but not something I can handle." He dodged an attack. "This is easy. Let's keep this pace for a while and not show my full power - they are already suspicious of me."
Hasha sometimes blocked Murama's attack and sometimes he dodged them.
Murama was surprised. "How is he blocking them. I have not just enhanced my body but also filled my sword with mana. And yet he is blocking it by one hand. Is it the sword or is it him?" He continued swinging his swords but they were either blocked or dodged.
Mina and Ushio were also surprised.
Mina, "He is blocking all the attacks of C rank so easily."
Ushio, "And it isn't just simple attacks if you hear the sound and shockwave."
Hasha continued to block and dodge all the attacks easily.
Hiro was excited, "Wow this is fun. Fighting with a Hunter."
Murama launched multiple straight attacks.
Hasha dodged them by just moving backward. He was near the ring line. " I am near the line," he thought.
Murama was closing in to attack Hasha.
Hasha swung his large sword horizontally. Murama stopped and backed off a little in shock.
"I forgot he can attack too," thought Murama, "And that sword, how is he swinging it with his one hand."
Slayer was longer and larger than normal swords. Even its round golden handle was longer. Murama had to get a little closer to Hasha to attack with his sword but for Hasha, with his long arms and sword's long blade Hasha didn't have to get extra close to attack. If they attacked each other at the same time only Hasha's sword would reach Murama, not Murama's.
Hasha moved to the side to not cross the line.
"Yaaah," Murama shouted, running towards Hasha raising his mana-filled yellow sword.
"That's enough!" Mina shouted.
Murama stopped and turned towards Mina.
"Isn't this enough? Mr. Murama," Mina asked, entering the ring with Ushio.
"Ah! Yes," Murama said, "I apologize. I was too into it." He looked at Hasha.
"What's going on?" Hasha thought.
"Mr. Hasha you passed this trial," Murama said. This time he had a gentle expression.
Hasha was confused seeing Murama's expression changed and with the sudden announcement.
"But I haven't defeated him yet," said Hasha.
Mina explained, "There are two main purposes of this trial: first- is to show that people aren't ready and need to train or complete their training as F-rank. And second is to actually see if one has trained or is ready and can start as an E rank hunter."
"So this test was just to see whether I have trained or not," Hasha said.
"That's right Mr. Hasha," Mina said, "We can't make someone hunter just because they said they have trained. We need proof like a training completion certificate from a hunter training institution, academy, or any facility. Or we check it by doing tests such as this. And you have passed this test."
Ushio patted fully armored Hasha with excitement. "Haha! You did it. Now you are an E rank hunter."
"Not quite yet," Mina said.
Ushio and Hasha were surprised.
Murama said, "There is still one last test. An easy test."
"Shall we got to another room," Mina said.
They went to another large room.
The room was similar to the previous one and also had the same square white lined ring. At the corner of the ring, there were five 3 meters tall, big humanoid structures made up of stones.
"Golems?" Hasha said. He had his golden helmet off and was carrying it. He also didn't have his sword out.
"Yes. They are the golems created by mage especially for this test," Mina said.
They went near to the stone golems.
The stone golems were: grayish, 3 meters tall, and big. They had big faces, big arms and legs, and big stomachs.
Ushio was excited seeing the golems. " It's my first time seeing them in real life," he caressed one the stone golem. "What does it run on? Mana core? Divine words?"
"All these golems run on Golem cores," Mina replied.
Murama explained, "Creating a golem is not an easy task especially Golem created from Divine Words."
Golems were unintelligent elemental creatures created from different types of elements. They had divine words engraved in them that bring them to life. Not everyone could cast such divine spells and words. Plus, such divine words varied. As a result, different kinds of Golem were found. Very few people with perfect Divine words could create a perfect golem.
Another method was Golem cores, cores that had few golems making magic embedded and mana. Golems with golem cores could only function as long they had mana in their golem core. Such golems had limited functions.
Hiro was also thrilled to see the golems in real life. He had only seen them in games.
Hasha asked, " Do I have to defeat them for this test?"
"No Mr. Hasha," Mina said, "For this test, you need to show us a few of your powers." She explained, " One must know a few magical moves either offense, defense, or support. And it is compulsory to have few attack moves." She moved to one of the Giant stone golems. " Try your attacks on these golems. Depending on the damage you give to these golems I will determine your result. Also, they aren't battle golems - the only thing they can do is some basic movements. However, If they touch you or capture you, it will negatively affect your result. "
Hasha looked above to one of the giant stone golem. "I just need to try some attacks and not let them touch me," said Hasha.
Murama came towards Hasha, "Easy isn't it." and went out of the ring.
Ushio, Mina, and Murama stood out of the ring to observe.
"Mr. Murama you can leave if you want. You don't have to follow and watch the test," Mina said to Murama who was beside her.
Murama smiled. "I'm okay watching it."
Mina looked at Murama, "Did he catch your eyes?" Are you planning to recruit him?"
"It's not up to me," replied Murama.
Ushio was right beside Mina, he heard their conversation. He was nervous.
Hasha stood in front of five 3m tall stone golems.
Mina shouted, "Ready Mr. Hasha."
Hasha raised his right hand to his right side. "Slayer," he called.
A long light appeared in his right hand and his large silver sword 'Slayer' appeared.
Murama was observing Hasha closely. He thought, "That summoning technique requires a lot of mana and is not something that anyone can do."
"I am ready," Hasha said.
Hiro inside, "Ohhh! Battle with real golems. This is exciting."
"Golems Go!," Mina shouted.
All the five giant stone golems started walking towards Hasha.
"Let's show them a few of my attacks," Hasha slowly ran towards stone golems.
"Mana blade," Hasha chanted. His silver sword was covered with his mana. The sword emitted his purple energy.
One stone golem was right in front of him. It extended its big arms to catch Hasha.
Hasha swung his long sword horizontally. The hands of the stone golem shattered. He jumped and gave a vertical slash. The slash, cut the front part of the golem.
Hasha then jumped above that golem and jumped above to the next golem behind it. A vertical downward slash with his purple mana-filled sword and the golem had a cut from its stone face to big stone stomach. He then ran from its side to the next golem.
Ushio, Mina, and Murama were surprised and intrigued.
Hasha pulled off his mana from his sword. "Short Slash," he swung his sword diagonally in the air. A small range, small yellow curve energy slash hit the golem making a deep cut. The golem fell on its back.
Hasha jumped on it. Even though the golem was cut and down, it tried to grab Hasha with its hands. "They are slow," he thought. "Short Slash," He attacked twice, cutting both hands of the Golem. He stood above it and looked at the last two stone golem.
The Last two Stone Golem, together, were getting closer to Hasha.
"Slayer's Slaying," Hasha swung his horizontally standing above the Golem he cut down. A horizontal thin and long purple energy slash flew out of his sword and cut down the approaching stone golems into two.
"Is this enough," Hasha thought while looking at the two-cut golem standing above the golem. He jumped off of the golem. He turned towards Mina and others.
"That would be enough!" Mina said.
Ushio clapped excitedly, "That was great."
Murama clapped slowly with a smile looking as if he had something in his mind.
Hasha came out of the ring. He took off his Golden Helmet. "How did I do?" he asked.
Mina explained, "You delivered great damage to the Stone golems, showed your attacks, and didn't let them touch or capture. Congratulation You passed the test, Mr. Hasha."
"Thank you," Hasha smiled.
"Please wait at the lobby," Mina said, "I will bring your Hunter Identity Card."
While they were about to exit the room, they saw Stone Golem attaching its part and regenerating.
Hasha, Ushio, and Murama waited in the lobby.
Ushio was back in his normal attire: a white t-shirt, black pants, and white shoes.
Murama was in his red armor with his sword on his waist.
Hasha asked Murama, "You are still in your armor. Are you gonna give the test to others?"
Murama replied, " Chances of conducting trials like this are very few Mr. Hasha. And you are the only one to take this trail today."
"Is that so," Hasha said.
"And talking about the armor, not anyone can switch or summon armor back and forth like you Mr. Hasha. It is a high magic spell that requires a lot of mana that is why most Hunters don't use it or learn it," Murama said.
"Is that so," Hasha said with a straight face. While Hiro thought, "Looks like I did something unnecessary."
"I want to apologize for my cold behavior during the test. I hope you understand," Murama said.
"It's okay. I understand," Hasha replied politely.
Murama extended his right hand for a handshake, "Then allow me to introduce myself again. I am Murama Suzuki, a C rank hunter of Red Sakura Guild."
Hasha shook his hand, "I am Hasha. You can just call me Hasha."
Ushio was listening to their conversation and he was nervous.
"Hasha, would you like to go and evaluate your power or rank in the evaluation room," Murama asked.
"Power? Rank?" Hasha was confused, " But I am not a Hunter yet."
"You are already actually," Murama replied.
"But why evaluation? Isn't it for hunters to check their rank. And if I am a hunter now then aren't I just an E rank," said Hasha.
Murama replied, "After taking the test and observing you, in my opinion, you are above E rank."
Hiro was surprised. He thought, "So that much is above E rank. What if I showed my full capability?"
Hiro looked at his brother Ushio. "I wonder if I am above rank would it help Brother Ushio more than being E rank? But still, I feel like I should take it slowly from the beginning?" Hiro thought.
Hasha answered, "Thank you, but I don't think I am above E rank. I am just a beginner after all."
Murama was surprised with his answer. He thought, "Normally any hunter would be happy to evaluate their rank if they found out that they may have ranked up but he doesn't want to. Is it because he is new and doesn't know?"
"Why don't you try once?" Murama tried to persuade Hasha politely.
"No, thank you. I am fine," Hasha replied politely.
"Then may I ask if you are planning to join any guild," Hasha asked.
Ushio looked at Hasha. He was worried and nervous but didn't say anything.
Hasha glanced at his nervous brother. "I' m joining his guild. Isn't that right?," Hasha pointed to Ushio with his thumb.
Ushio was surprised and relieved. "Yes, He is," he said, touching his glasses.
"I see!" Murama said.
Mina came. She handed a white identity card to Hasha, "Here is your E rank identity card Mr. Hasha. Congratulations on becoming an E rank hunter" She smiled.
Hasha looked at his white E rank hunter identity card. It has his photo and details. " Thank you," he said with a smile.
Ushio and Murama also congratulated him.
Mina said, " Hunters aren't there for only people, nor society nor country, but they are there for Humanity. They go into an unknown and dangerous world and fight dangerous beings. For that, I thank you for choosing to be a Hunter and I pray for your success and wellbeing." She bowed.
Ushio and Murama also looked at Hasha proudly. They were also proud.
Hiro thought, "Wow! That was great."
Hasha bowed, "Thank you and I will do my best to keep you safe."
Ushio and Hasha parted away. Murama watches them going outside the building.
"Is he that amazing that you stuck to him till the end," Mina asked Murama.
"He is and I think he is gonna be more amazing from now on," Murama said, "I wanted him to join our guild you know."
Outside the building, Ushio and Hasha were walking in the yard.
"I think he wanted you to join his guild," said Ushio.
"I have already decided to join your guild," Hasha replied.
"Thank you," Ushio said, "Then let me treat you for joining my guild."
"What about paper works? And detail about your guild," Hasha asked.
"Let's talk about it later," Ushio said. He was happy that he got a hunter for his guild after more than a month.
Hiro was also happy that he got to help his brother.
"Ah! I forgot to tell you that you can use a stage name or titles for your hunter name," Ushio said, "You know like Golden Warrior, Golden Dragon, something like that for you. Stage names are trendy nowadays."
"I am fine with Hasha," Hasha smiled.
