In heavens, all beings here are considered immortal, while otherworldy strong cultivators became Immortals. Notice the vast difference of the small and capital letter. Reaching the first layer of Heavens -Yihme, is a warranty of immortality. Which means, any mortal who landed her becomes immortal. In a sense that they live longer, possibly for centuries and millenia, without being infected by natural diseases. Still, they can die of fatal wounds and toxic poisons, and the superficial cause of death.
Immortals on the other hand, or some might term Heavenly Immortals are the true immortals. These are those cultivators who have ascended to a higher realm of existence in where any cause of demise is unpenetrative to their body and mind. Thus, in a war, they can just sit by a dump and let the puny humans slash and bite them. They would feel pain of course, only they won't die no matter what. The only way to truly extinguish their existence is to kill their soul, or charge them with insanely amount of power. 'Tis so hard to explain. Thy unsettled minds will or shall not understand. But you know, the great thing about immortality is not being abandoned by death, but having long lifespan enough to uncover the mysteries of the universe, to travel unhindered, and fearlessly charging battles single-handed. That is what made all the difference. But as we all know, living forever might be a curse in disguise.
"Senior bro, I would like to know more. Please teach me!", she grabbed his shoulder.
Xiao Bai was stunned. Now you're calling me senior bro? But I guess it's alright. There's no harm in having a junior sister, only that he really wasn't used to being around somebody, especially females. He don't like their aura at all.
"What do you want to learn? There are many things I know through my three hundred years of existence. You may not be able to understand much if I tell you all about it. So which topic would you like me to start with?"
She thought hard. There wasn't anything she could think of. But thinking of the medallion, her head light bulb. "Aha! Oh yeah. I have a favor to ask. This medallion is full of earth energy. Can you crack the seal so I can absorb the earth energy inside?" She presented the medallion.
He examined it. "I see. You are a mortal so you would have to use earth energy to cultivate. I do sense a vast amount of earth energy stored in here. What exactly is this? Where did you find it?"
"That, I can't tell. What do you think it is?"
"It's a storage space I think. Just like space ring, it can contain anything inside. I sense a unique aura coming from inside. Though they were suppressed by the seal, this unique aura is overflowing, like a hot water from a boiling teapot. The truth is, you won't need anything to crack the seal. Because it is breaking the seal on its own. I surmise that something powerful must be inside it's space. Whatever it is, it is not just a simple earth energy. You would need to wait until the chick breaks its own shell before you will be clarified. For now, I suggest do not play with this medallion. You wouldn't want to spill the egg before it's truly developed. If it is something precious, you will know soon. Rou Lang, I have a beast core here. There are lots of amounts of earth energy. The Heavens is abundant with heaven energy, but is not lacking with earth energy. Earth energy was just dilluted due to the pureness of the atmosphere. But in some deep spaces of the canyons, beasts thrive by absorbing earth energies. Thus, their cores are not so pure, but such ball is suficient enough to be your cultivation tool. Here it is." He handed a black orb about the size of the fist. The orb indeed is radiating with strong earth energy.
"Thank you, senior bro! Can I ask you to accompany me in cultivating?"
"Huh? No need. You can do it on your own. Why would we need to do 'it' to cultivate? I won't. I refuse!"
Rou Lang was exhilirated. "I'm not talking about dual-cultivation. Why would we do such stuff? Are your pervert?"
"Ah??"
"I'm just asking if you could inspect my meridians and dantians to check if the enrgies are flowing in the right direction."
Xiao Bai scratched his head in embarassment. "All right. I can do that."
They started. Rou Lang sat in a lotus position and began to meditate. One hand near her lower dantian, holding the fist-sized beast core. The other hand is being held by Xiao Bai. He can send his consciousness towards her system.
Intense focus and relaxation gradually overwhelmed her and she breathes in a regular pattern, a breathing technique taught by Master Lei Jian. This breathing technique would assist in drawing in qi and revolving then around her meridians smoothly. It was just like the circulatory system, the meridians are the pathway of qi stretching in branches towards different parts of the body. The circulation is a natural process and as long as the posture is straight and proper, there would be no hindrance at all.
Her palm started to heat up and her pores are opening. It means the hand is ready to absorb from the ball of qi. As she draw in, tiny amounts of qi will be absorbed through her palm and would go straight to the meridians for revolution. As she breathes out, she releases the impurities accumulated within. At this time, there are only two meridians opened -the two main orbits of qi revolution. They are the largest and are the main pipes of the system. One is responsible for receiving energy to circulate to the whole body while the other is responsible for releasing impurities throughout the meridians.
There are over all ninety-nine meridians in a normal human's body. Ninety are blocked by the accumulated waste while most are so small that nothing could fit on. Through cultivating and cultivating repeatedly, revolving and revolving the energy throughout the mains meridians, the others will began to loosen up as well and the impurities will be melted. Opening one meridian is equivalent to the rise of cultivation level and the storage for qi will expand.
The absorption of both earth and heaven energy is a hassle. The ratio of absorption for both is equivalent to 3:1 respectively, meaning she have to absorb 3 joules of earth energy for 1 joule of heaven energy. That is to find balance between yin and yang. The beast core is diminishing at a steady rate. It will vanish hours later. For the newbie cultivator, her talent is considered average but it's not so bad at all. She will improve further in the future.
Rou Lang is a special girl. One which is one of a kind, according to him. She isn't like those flirty roadside beauties or the chatty country ladies nor the timid traditional ones. It almost seem as if she is a foreigner, and the blood of Chinese is not that apparent to her figure.
Xiao Bai spent an hour staring at her. He was observing her face. Those oval flawless face is drop dead cute. Those pink lips which would quaver in a while makes his brow knit. And those lighty closed eyes which would open at any time, and her eyelashes are protuding long which glistened with smoothness. And the nose, he wants to pinch those baby cute bridge. I can't describe properly. Perhaps she is not Chinese after all. She is closer to the pioneering group of wealthy foreigners called Ribenren/Japanese. Xiao Bai was instantly attracted to the adorable loli. He glanced down and 'accidentally' locked his gaze on her chest side. It wasn't visible of course. But her cups are visibly protuding from her robes.
Aish, what am I thinking? He thought. I should concentrate on what I'm doing. And so he set aside his nasty thoughts and tries to suppress the 'tree growing fast on the hill'.
He sent his consciousness through her wrist and into her system. As though he was inside himself, he can see and travel her meridians like a car. He was surprised. Her meridians are very dry and empty, like it's not functional at all. He did find impurities lodging on its walls but were still too little compared to the norm. That's strange, he thought. Her system is really dried out like some sort of qi has flushed them all away. There were even signs of burns and damage to the interior. His curiousity piqued and he explores farther down.
He reached her lower dantian, the one at the center of the navel. This one is normal and some qi are already accumulated. The dantian was spacious enough to contain three or four elemental cores which is quite rare. Normal dantians can only store one or two cores.
Next is the middle dantian, at the center of the chest, also known as heart. But when he was near, he can't advance at all. It's like a barrier is preventing him from entering. Still strange. Perhaps it requires some kind of locking mechanism? He didn't pursue any further and travelled up to her higher dantian.
The higher dantian is in the head, also known as brain. This area is the hardest part to cultivate, and most cultivators avoid touching this dantian. It is because the brain is extremely senstivive to foreign force and will bend to whatever kind of force that enters it. Simply put, if dark energy infested the brain, that person will go haywire, go crazy, and might even be a devil cultivator. However, those who successfuly cultivated this has gone past the threshold of idiocy. Their mental abilities are highly improved that they can solve any problem in a few seconds.
When Xiao Bai's consciousness successfuly penetrated her brain and went straight to the core, he was confused. There were total blackness overall. And a strange kind of malevolent force is all around the place.
He gulped. This is not good.
