"So, what's the plan?" Perez asked when he popped into her room the next morning.
Mari cursed and rushed to cover her nakedness from his all too eager view. "Dammit, Perez, you did that on purpose!" she shrieked.
He offered a crooked smile. "Of course I did. How else would I see all the better bits of Mari?"
She sucked in a breath at his unabashed deviancy but then wondered why she was surprised by him at all. The man lived to shock and annoy.
"Of course I do," he said, apparently reading her thoughts, again. "I've been around for centuries, what else is there to do other than find all the buttons and push them. Frequently. And with much enthusiasm?"
Mari grumbled and readjusted the blanket covering her better bits. "Could you at least turn around so I can get dressed?"
Perez presented her with a deep, extravagant bow. "But, of course, milady." His voice held barely contained laughter, and Mari wondered why he bothered containing it at all.
