Chapter 56

"My time is almost near," Sice replied, staring at the back of his hand. "That won't be necessary."

A small pool of blood formed near Darius's ankles where Sana shot him. I wiped the dirt and sand off my clothes, having only suffered a split lip from the fall, and dragged him close to the door. My last bit of strength fading from my body.

"Tell him we're here. Open the door!" I yelled at Sice.

"He already knows."

"We need to get inside, he's losing a lot of blood. Sana shot him. I didn't even know he had a gun."

"We were saving that," Sice said, with a noted change in his voice. "In case the end was too rough for one of us. Only you and him (Pointing to Darius) will meet Omni. He, (Pointing to Sage) Like me, will go no further. It is written in the stars."

"Enough with that! I've seen what's to come, and I live," Sage rebutted, still unable to stand.

"You...have hope," Sice drooled, as his arm rapidly rotted, slithering off, just his shoulder remained. "That is good."
