I sprinted after her, looking left and right, excited that the only things around us were a cavalcade of cadavers. Outside interference would kill my entire plan.
"Stop running! You don't know where you are!"
She shrieked at every head on a spike and gasped at the crucified bodies. Further down the back route, she went, till something stopped her in her tracks. I took the opportunity to catch up.
"You can't be seen out here, in the flatland like this. It's too dangerous. This isn't Wren!"
By the time I caught up, she was speechless, aghast, staring at the gruesome remains of Queen Nuli, crucified on the tree. Last I remember, they didn't get along too well. And that argument brought me a lecherous woman. Death has a way of healing old wounds, well, for some people.
"I told you...this isn't Wren."
"Those were Zed's kids, inside her," she finally spoke, caressing her own belly.
I froze, taking in the gravitas of her words. The Collector destroyed Zed's legacy.
