Chapter 68: It May Get Better

The very next day after Mina left Carmella's nightmares ended. She slept through the night and if she remembered her dreams they always seemed to be pleasant with images of Bilal, Raj and the wolves.

Several months later, after the leaves began to change colors from green and yellow to red and orange and the temperature grew mild, Little Wolf began to bark and whine at the point of their front yard that bordered the forest.

Since his attack, Little Wolf seldom ventured into the forest. There were plenty of mice and birds on the farm to snack on without having to go hunting in order to supplement his diet of kibble.

Carmella heard the racket and the first thing she thought of were the pigs. Wolves had been trying to break into the pen but Little Wolf came in handy since he stayed relegated to the nearby barn.
