On Saturday I asked Mom if I could borrow the car. She squinted one eye at me.
"And you say that you've been driving for twenty years?"
I nodded. "I haven't been involved in an accident since some old woman ran a red light and messed up my front end. And that was six years ago."
"All right," she sighed. "May I ask where you're going?"
I nodded. "I'm going to visit James at Bellevue. There is more that we need to talk about."
I drove in deep thought. I had lied to Bill and told him that I was going to take care of some family things today and that I would see him Sunday. He was cool with it since being in school had cut down on his martial arts training time.
I waited for James out in the courtyard. Since it was Saturday, the courtyard was crowded with families and friends visiting their loved ones. Did James ever get a visit from his family? I would have to ask.
