Bonfire night II

"Oh wow it seems our local teammate seems to be making friends with her kind."

A female voice is heard behind Ilara, the group turns round to set their eyes on a male and female standing not too far from where they stood, both newcomers seem to be dressed in expensive embroidery with their stock up attitude resonating loudly from their outfit.

"Oh hey guys, didn't think I'd see you here."

Okoye responds to the newcomers.

"Okoye, do you know these people??"

Ilara asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah they are my teammates."

Okoye replies but is interrupted by the newcomers.

"Can you not tell that to everyone, we wouldn't want it to be known that we paired up with the likes of you."

The female newcomer comments with an attitude that annoys Sai but he chooses not to react just yet.

"Uhmm Sai, Ilara these are my teammates; Mira and Killian."

"I'm sure Mira just told you not to make it known that we are teammates."

Killian asks with a sense of disgust in his words.

"What's the problem anyways??... They are gonna find out when the exams start and Ilara is my friend."

Okoye replies with a smile.

"You don't look like someone that was raised in a low class setting so how can you be friends with such a low class individual."

Mira asks as she steps closer to Ilara and sizes her up closely.

"Low class??... Is that the reason you guys are talking so rudely to Okoye??"

Sai asks with his anger reaching it's max.

"I wasn't talking to you."

Mira replies harshly to Sai, Ilara raises a brow before calming her nerves to respond.

"I'm not from a low class setting but I was raised right enough to know that when you use class to differentiate between people, that always ends up biting you in the back."

Mira cannot help but chuckle at Ilara's response.

"Oh really??.... I have a feeling that maybe you aren't from the higher echelons of society as I thought you were."

Ilara forms a fist and is about to react when Okoye grabs her shoulder, Ilara turns to face Okoye with the latter responding with a smile.

"Uhmm sorry Mira, Killian… I won't tell any other person that we are teammates."

Okoye turns to face Killian and Mira, both individuals squeeze their noses in their derogatory fashion before walking away.

"I'm sorry for how my teammates spoke to you, they are really nice when you get to know them."

Okoye apologizes with a bow.

"You don't have to apologize, your teammates are just jerks, I wonder how you can be so calm after everything they said to you."

Sai remarks as he regains his calm composure.

"Well I guess it doesn't really bother me what they think about me or what they say towards me, such kind of things never affect me so yeah."

Okoye replies with a reassuring smile which causes Sai and Ilara to wonder what manner of lady Okoye was.

Dan sits by the fence of the lounge all by himself as he seems lost in thought, Okoye walks up to him with her hands behind her back and stands in front of him, Dan looks up at her and she gives him a bright smile that causes him to raise a brow.

"Hey."

Okoye says.

"Hey."

Dan replies.

Dan is about to put his head down again but is stopped by Okoye.

"Why are you so grumpy, the other two seem nice but you are basically the opposite."

Dan raises a brow at the odd question posed by Okoye.

"I see no reason why I should have to answer this question of yours."

"Well yeah that is true but it wouldn't hurt for you to reply."

Okoye says.

"You won't go away without me answering your question, right."

Dan asks.

"Well yes."

Okoye replies as she proceeds to sit beside him.

"Talk to me."

Dan let's out a sigh before turning to face Okoye.

"Honestly I'm not just feeling it."

"Feeling what??"

Okoye puts up her brow.

"I don't think I'm supposed to be here taking part in this exam."

Dan explains.

"Hmm, why do you feel that way??"

Okoye asks.

"If you feel that way, why come all the way here from where you were based."

"I was paid."

Dan replies bluntly.

"Huh."

"I was paid by Ilara to help her complete her team of three so she could take part in the exams."

Dan replies.

"Oh… that's an odd reason to be here, quite intriguing."

Okoye says as she let's out a chuckle.

"Are you laughing at me??"

Dan asks with a frown.

"No, not at all…. It's just that the reason you gave for being here is kinda funny."

Okoye says as she tries to stifle her chuckle.

"Hmm."

Dan frowns his face for a bit before letting out a smile.

"I guess you are right, now that I think about it, that's kinda funny."

"You look really cute when you smile, you should smile more often."

Okoye says, there is silence for a little while as Dan and Okoye exchange looks with each other with Okoye smiling a bit.

"Why do you feel out of place here??"

Okoye asks breaking the silence between them.

"Cause I don't care about enforcing the law, left to me even if i wanted to help the society I'd rather much be a vigilante than a government dog."

Dan remarks.

"Yeah I'd prefer being my own agent of justice without having to stay within the rules imposed by the law, I for one know just how corrupt the system can be."

Okoye responds.

"Really, how come you know that??"

Dan asks with a grin, Okoye spends the next minute or so relating the events that caused her to take part in the exams to Dan with Dan listening with rapt attention.

"That's a touching tale, so that's why you are here…. I guess that's more noble than what I gave as a reason, you have goals and I'm a guy just walking through life still confused on his choices with no goals to speak of."

Dan remarks with a weird chuckle.

"Well why don't you just make some??"

"it's not as easy as you make it out to be."

Dan remarks.

"it can't be so hard, my dad always told me that all it takes is a willing heart and a determined mindset for a person to create goals for him or herself."

Okoye responds.

"Your dad must be a wise man."

Okoye chuckles a bit before replying.

"Nope, actually he's a drunk, although the few times he's sober he can be a bit sensible."

Dan sizes up Okoye with an amazed look on his face.

"My parents were killed when I was little…."

Dan begins as he narrates his story to Okoye with Okoye listening closely.

"Well hello everyone, we hope you all had a wonderful time at this bonfire as it will not be happening again."

Yakob stands atop a pedestal as he speaks, the participants chuckle at his words with merriment still solid in the air.

"Actually I'm not joking, this will not be happening again."

Yakob reiterates with a little seriousness, a ring of disappointed 'oh" fly out from the participants as their excitement was cut short with Yakob's statement.

"But no need to worry, that doesn't mean more fun things won't be planned for the remainder of time you all will be spending with us here, I'll oblige that you all now head back to your quarters to rest up for tomorrow's orientation."

The agent that was with Yakob as he watched over the bonfire a while back speaks up as well with Sai noting that the agent in question was a beautiful dark skinned woman with flowing white hair.

"Whoa."

Sai manages to let out under his breath but is caught by Ilara who immediately shoves him in his groin with her elbow.

"Ow."

Sai looks at Ilara who gives him an acid glare.

"Sorry." is all Sai could manage to say before everyone began to disperse.

Sai straightens up to search for Dan but is surprised to see him walking towards the lounge with Okoye having a more friendly expression on his face, Sai taps Ilara to grab her attention and she is also amazed by the sight before them.

"That girl is amazing."

Ilara remarks in amazement.

"Yeah too bad we might have to face her team in the exams."

Sai retorts with a slight worry.

"What I'm more concerned about is her teammates, they might prove to be quite detrimental to Okoye."

Ilara says.

"Lets leave here before anyone sees us."

Sai grabs Ilara's palm and leads her out of the bonfire location.
