-Co-Governor Tyler Petrenko to Grand Admiral Lorne Patel, November 2nd, 2174 CE

THE SUNLIGHT WAS harsh against Eve's eyes as she and her father dragged the boy (Cal) from the wreckage of his ship. The drive back into town was a blur as Eve struggled to keep the boy conscious. Jack demanded constant updates while piloting the crawler over Thirst's sand dunes as carefully and quickly as possible.

"Glasshand," the boy mumbled, absently clutching at his mangled arm. "Glasshand."

"Hurry," Eve said to Jack. "I'm barely keeping him awake."

Jack stepped on the gas, and the crawler glided through the sands at a speed Eve had previously thought impossible. They reached the village in a matter of minutes, Jack throwing the crawler into park and plucking the boy from the cab, rushing towards the doctor's hut.
