EVE HAD NEVER been on a ship as large as Modesty's Revenge. Then again, it was only the second ship she had ever flown on, the first being the Modesty itself, of course. How much good would the ship's size do if the Sovereignty decided it really wanted to catch them? Sure, Modesty's Revenge was outfitted to the brim with state-of-the-art weaponry and defense systems, but how would they fare against a much larger number of opponents? Eve tried not to think about it.


She left Teth and Royce to rest in the med bay and walked to the cockpit, where Cal gently turned the steering handles and throttle to keep the ship speeding quietly through the clouds of Pil II.
