Chapter 3: Fire and Ice

Universe 3, Sunday, September 8th 1995. Quidditch Stands, Hogwarts, Scotland.

Time goes by, and the first week of school quickly flashes by. We can currently find our main character sitting in the stands of the Quidditch stadium bright and early Sunday morning. Next to her is Hermione who's squinting down at her Arithmancy book, trying to ignore the beam of light pointed at her eyes. Hazel herself is leaning forward with intense eyes, watching as the Gryffindor Quidditch Team is practicing. Angelina Johnson was chosen as Captain for the year, and instead of waiting until next week to undergo try-outs, she had them Friday evening two days ago. After a few lucky blocks, Ron managed to secure the position of Keeper. That's not to say everything was well.

"He's still letting pressure get to him, and we're the only ones watching." Hazel mutters out in disapproval as Ron lets another quaffle past him, this one from Katie Bell. A few seconds later she rolls her eyes as she sees Fred and George intentionally laughing loudly at their little brother whose face reddens distinctly. "That's probably not helping honestly." She smirks in approval as Ginny, the current Seeker, flies by the two, a little closer than strictly safe.

"It's only his second day of training Hazel, what are you expecting exactly?" Hermione nudges her friend while looking up at the training that's happening in the air. She hums for a few seconds and proceeds to glance at Hazel. "You're sure about not playing? I bet Ginny would step down in an instant if you decided to take the position."

Hazel simply smiles wistfully while staring as Ginny flies overhead. "Nah, I told you I prefer spectating. Plus it's not like I'm that much better than her at flying, honestly with her talent I could see her doing it professionally. That's why I lent her my Firebolt for the year… With her red hair, don't you think she rides it better than me?" She speaks playfully, whooping once in approval as Ron blocks Angelina's shot.

"That was nice of you, really it's the best best broom for the Seeker position isn't it? Anyway, that's happening later isn't it? I wonder how it will turn out?"

"Who knows? Either way it's not that big of deal." Hazel hums out casually, wincing when Alicia gets hit by a bludger. Hermione looks at her and raises an eyebrow. "What?"

"Not a big deal? Hazel ever since it was first brought up you've been constantly thinking about it. And the night you were told the date it was going to take place, you squealed into your bed like a love struck teenager. Lavender and Parvati are both still convinced you have a hidden boyfriend, and wont stop bothering me for details. Now remind me again how it's not a big deal?" Hermione deadpans with a smirk on her face.

Hazels' face immediately turns blood red, and she glares over at her best friend. "Please don't mention that. Ever. Anyway, I decided that whatever happens will happen. I certainly cannot change the outcome, so I'll simply wish for the best. Worst comes to worst, I'll simply stay with you forever, even when you marry. I'll be the amazing aunt to your children yeah?" Hazel speaks sweetly, then mischievously towards Hermione, who just rolls her eyes with a smile of fondness and they both then go silent as they focus on their respective interests.

Universe 3, Sunday, September 8th 1995. Hogwarts Corridor, Hogwarts, Scotland.

Hours pass and it's now Dinner time, roughly 6:30PM, and we can find our favorite trio walking through the corridor that leads directly to the Great Hall. As the go around a corner, they stop in their tracks as ahead of them stands a certain blonde haired Slytherin alongside his two minions. Said blonde smirks lightly while leaning up against a wall, leering while staring directly at Hazel who sighs in annoyance.

"Well well well, if it isn't the Gryffindor Princess, along with her pet weasel and mudblood. I didn't get the chance to talk on the train, so I was worried you had missed my presence." Draco Malfoy drawls out, his smirk growing larger as Ron hisses in rage and goes to grab his wand. Hermione stops him and Hazel narrows her eyes while speaking harshly.

"Honestly Malfoy, I had hoped that you finally got the hint this year and had finally stopped deciding to badger us constantly. Anyway, we've spoken, so if you would please get out of the way?"

He laughs lightly and proceeds to push off the wall, standing firmly while reaching a hand towards her. "Now now, what's the hurry. In any case, I'll give you the same offer I have in the previous years, become mine Hazel Potter. Now more than ever it's time for you to chose the winning side, I would have thought this summer had proven that?" He confidently stares, but frowns when Hazel instead backs up a few paces.

"And I told you Malfoy, I'm not interested and that will never happen. And you should really know better than to think that Voldemort will ever be able to defeat Dumbledore!" She speaks out, crossing her arms while rolling her eyes towards the boy.

Hermione then speaks up lightheartedly while quirking an eyebrow. "Speaking of this summer, I bet you've had a lot of fun haven't you? Considering the family reunion you've likely had with your aunt…"

Draco's face pales slightly for a few seconds, then reddens in anger as he spits vitriol towards Hermione. "Silence Granger, you have no idea what you're talking about. I guess it's to be expected however, from a filthy little mud-" his voice trails off as he sees Professor Potter in the distance, approaching the corner where they stand. "Anyways, I'll be off now. You'd be wise to pick the winning side Hazel, you could be so much more than what you currently are…"

As Draco and his two gorillas turn around and walk towards the Great Hall, just down the hallway; from behind Hazel and her friends Professor Potter approaches and hugs her daughter from behind once, before moving around in front of them. Ron sighs, and the tension that was so vivid previously disappeared, while Hermione sighs in resignation beside him.

"Everything alright darling? Do I need to assign a detention?" Lily speaks concernedly, then mischievously. Winking as Ron snorts, the group of four begin walking slowly towards the Great Hall, not minding the crowd of students walking around them.

"Everything's fine mom, just Malfoy being himself." She sighs out, and then leans closer towards her mother, whispering to her. "What time do I need to be in the Forest?"

Lily smiles and replies softly. "Right after dinner my flower, be sure to come unnoticed. It simply wouldn't due if you were followed by a random student." She then speaks louder, ignoring Hazels face at the nickname, and including the other two in their conversation. "I hope the three of you finished the essays that were required about the Giant Wars, the deadline is tomorrow morning you know?"

Hermione perks up while Ron groans and looks pleadingly towards Hazel who laughs lightly. "Oh yes Professor Potter, the subject was surprisingly interesting. If you look between the lines, it even describes the best way to stun a Giant, which hopefully is never necessary."

Lily smiles brightly at Hermione, and the two begin discussing the complicated intricacies of Giant-Human relations, and how it affects them today. Hazel along side Ron sigh, and as they enter the Great Hall; Professor Potter heads towards the teachers table, and Hermione frowns at the two and their waning interest. When Ron begins to fill his plate with an untold amount of food, she rolls her eyes and stares decidedly towards Hazel.

"Well. It's happening after this isn't it? Be honest, you're nervous aren't you?" She speaks teasingly while grabbing some food for herself. Hazel hums and does the same, pointedly ignoring the question while speaking loudly towards Ginny who's sitting a few seats down.

"How was practice today Ginny, you looked amazing on that Firebolt." She watches as Ginny's face brightens noticeably, ignoring Hermione as she rolls her eyes. "And be honest, how did you think Ron did?"

Ginny smiles sweetly and replies. "It was wonderful thank you, you really don't mind lending it to me the entire year? And Ron did well enough, he just keeps getting nervous when he shouldn't be. He does excellent during our summer games." She then furrows her brows as someone decidedly not wearing Gryffindor colors sits down beside Hazel, and casually reaches over towards her plate and steals a bite of food. Said someone is roughly 5'6, the same height as Hazel herself. She noticeably has bright pink hair that stands out a bit too much, and mischievous green eyes the same color as Hazel. Ginny smiles in recognition as said eyes wink towards her. "Oh Tonks, what are you doing here?"

"Wotcher Ginny, Hazel. You too Hermione and Ron. Here on official business I'm afraid, supposed to be blending in you see?" Nymphadora Tonks greets them chirpily, grabbing another bite of food from Hazel's plate, who smacks her hand lightly. She pulls back with a sad frown and her hair changes from pink to dark blue, her eyes widening unnaturally and looking as if she's about to shed tears. Hazel just rolls her eyes and moves her plate towards Tonks, who reverts her looks with a smile.

"Blending in sure. Tonks you have to be the worst Auror I've ever heard of. Remind me again, how did you pass?" Hazel drawls out with a sweet smile, winking as Ginny snorts at her quip. Tonks smiles back smugly and retorts.

"Ah, but you have heard of me haven't you? Anyway, in case you're curious, Sirius is up by the teachers table next to Remus, he's currently in disguise as well. It wouldn't be good if we got the students curious as to why there are so many new faces at school tonight now would it? I can get away with stating I'm here on an errand by your father, Sirius not so much." She finishes her statement with that, and afterwards she hums in approval as she bites down on some food. "Hogwarts food really is the best isn't it?"

"And having a black dog run around Hogwarts isn't noticeable? Fair enough. Dad's not here is he? I doubt he could get the free time considering how hard the Minister is working him. Plus I'd rather not have him for that event anyway…" Hazel replies lightly, with a touch of nervousness showing.

"Nah, as the Head of the DMLE, he's got so much work I feel sorry for him. Amelia is running him ragged, and with the Dark Tosser running around, he'll be busy a while. Anyway, I think I'll go now, see you soon. Thanks for the food, oh and you may want to help Ron." She laughs in amusement as said boy chokes on his food, and she gets up and walks towards the exit as Hermione slaps his back.

"Honestly Ronald, maybe if you ate slower then that wouldn't happen." She sighs out while pushing her plate away, done eating. She proceeds to speak towards Hazel quietly. "Since we're not allowed to follow you, you'll explain how it goes won't you? Oh I wish I could watch it myself. It's going to start at 7 isn't it?" She glances towards the teachers table that's emptier than normal. Professor Snape simply didn't show up for the evening meal period, alongside Professor McGonagall. On the other hand Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor Potter were both clearly finished eating, and were in the process of exiting the hall. Remus and a certain black dog were already absent. Surprisingly, the students either don't care or doesn't notice them leaving early.

"I can't help it 'Mione, if you were raised in the Weasley family you'd know. At our house, Dinner is a battlefield." Ron proclaims mightily, raising a chicken breast as if it were a sword. Ginny laughs in agreement, and a few seats down from her Fred and George raise their own chicken in harmony. Hermione sighs again, and rolls her eyes again towards Hazel as if saying 'what can you do about him'.

"You should probably get going Hazel. Dinner ends at 7:00PM, so you'd best leave before the crowd begins to. Curfew for students is officially 9:00PM, but most go straight to their Common Rooms after dinner, so there won't be many wandering the grounds after this. And the few that do won't stay for long, it's supposed to drizzle later if I recall. Rain won't effect it will it?" She murmurs out towards her friend, who shrugs as she doesn't know the answer. "Do you want us to stay in the Common Room and wait for you? If I remember what Professor Dumbledore said, it shouldn't be more than an hour long."

Hazel sighs and with a flourish, she gets up from where she's sitting. "You don't have to 'Mione… But I'd appreciate it. Anyway, I'm going. Wish me luck you two." She whispers back and with a turn, walks towards the exit of the Great Hall. Many eyes, mostly boys to be perfectly honest, stared at her as she went. Only a few not directly staring at her body, her wide hips noticeable through her robes even at her age.

As she leaves and begins walking through the Entrance Hall, she quickly comes upon the entrance of Hogwarts and exits it, afterwards finding a small unnoticed alcove and pulling out a piece of parchment from her robes pockets. With a whisper of 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good', her beloved map is revealed to the world. After making sure no wandering students would be in the path she was about to walk, she idly notes that Padfoot and Moony are both already walking across the grounds. She also spots the clearing in the Forest, several names already waiting. The map doesn't show the entirety of the Forest, but it shows enough. She hums in surprise at a few of them before putting her map away and beginning to walk towards the grounds, and then towards the Forest.

Universe 3, Sunday, September 8th 1995. Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts, Scotland

As Hazel Potter walks through the forest, with her wand in hand and eyes softly shining; she jumps slightly as a large black dog appears from nowhere with a bark. She scowls and rolls her eyes once, then stares at the dog while speaking. "Really Padfoot? Don't you think that's a little too easy?"

Said dog quickly changes from a canine into a human, said man is about 5'9, with shaggy black hair and brown eyes that twinkle mischievously. He walks over to her and pulls her into a large swinging hug, twirling her once before setting her down. "It's good to see you Princess, I still made you jump didn't I? The clearing is just around the corner, everything's already set up and waiting for the main star." He speaks loudly, and proceeds to walk in said direction with a gesture to follow.

She sighs while running a hand through her long hair, trying to comb it slightly with her fingers as she follow him. As they begin to walk closer she mumbles lightly. "I didn't jump, I only flinched. And is that nickname necessar-" She trails off as she feels an uncomfortable feeling, as if stepping into a bubble, wash over her when she steps into the clearing. She then notices the crowd standing in the Forest. She had glimpsed the names on the map, but she was still surprised at how many people had shown up exactly. There was Dumbledore and her mom, along with Moony and Professor Snape. Professor McGonagall was there alongside Tonks and Alastor Moody, whose eye swerved dangerously towards her in greeting briefly before glaring back at the ritual site. On a tree limb, Fawkes trills happily towards her once. She thought it would only be a few people, not her and 8 others. She glances towards where Professor Dumbledore and her mother was currently just finishing the ritualistic circle, and with a deadpan she speaks aloud. "It's a pentagram. No wait, a heptagram? Along with powdered, what exactly?"

Sirius snorts and speaks loudly towards Remus. "Told you she'd ask, you owe me one Moony!" They both walk over and stand beside Dumbledore who smiles gently and twinkles his eyes towards her. Her mother smiles and wraps an arm around her briefly.

Dumbledore then clears his throat and speaks. "I'm glad you asked my dear. Yes, the first thing you may notice is the heptagram, a seven pointed star is often used in many rituals; not just this one. The powder is Dragon Bone. To be precise, Ancient Dragon Bone ground into powder, along with a touch of something else mixed in." He glances down at his hand where a rather antique watch rested, and with a clap of his hands he speaks louder, this time towards everyone. "I believe it's about time to start everyone, does anyone have any questions before we begin?" As he questions the small crowd, Hazel silently mouths to herself. 'What's an Ancient Dragon?'

Alastor Moody grunts once and growls out. "Yes Albus, you're sure about this? Not too late to back down. We may just pull another Dark Lord through you know? It's happened before if I recall."

As Lily lightly urges Hazel to stand on one of the points of the circle, Dumbledore states firmly. "I'm sure Alastor, the ritual itself is perfect, and we have the necessary anchors. The Prophecy was very clear that this is necessary, I reassure you it will go fine."

Hazel watches with light concern as Dumbledore grips his wand, to be exact the Elder Wand, not that anyone knew so. She mumbles towards her mother as she, along with the others back away a few meters from the circle. "Is this really okay mom? What if something bad happens, or if Moody ends up being right?"

Lily speaks then, standing beside Remus and Sirius, who's standing beside Tonks. Next to her is McGonagall and Severus, and next to him is Moody. They're all standing in a semi-circle, and not exactly hiding the fact that they're all palming their wands lightly. "Don't you worry darling, everything will be fine. Albus and I have both spoke with a certain Unspeakable who agrees that this is necessary for the Prophecy to reach completion. Now just stand there and look beautiful my daughter, Albus is about to begin."

As the Light Lord hums once and begins to swirl his wand, to the side Fawkes trills once more before taking off as a light mist begins to descend upon the clearing. It's a cloudy evening in Scotland, and just as the clock hits 7:00PM, he begins speaking. For an hour he waves his wand and speaks eloquently, however it's quickly noticeable that whatever he's speaking; he's certainly not speaking English, or even Latin. Roughly every 8 ½ minutes, a point of the star inside the circle lights up brightly, and the last one to light up is the one directly beneath the teenage girl whose eyes noticeably glow brighter. After the long, suitably dramatic display of light reaches its pinnacle, the small group of people jump as lightning flashes once across the sky. Rain begins to pour down, stopping someways above them, as a transparent bubble of magic kept them dry. Hazel looks up in realization while thinking to herself. 'So that's what that was.'

The Headmaster of Hogwarts hums lightly while lowering his wand and casually glancing towards the sky himself, speaking aloud. "I do believe the ritual is finished, and unless a Thunderbird is currently making its way across the sky; I believe my previous assumption about our soon-to-be guest is right."

As harsh winds flow across the clearing flushing away the previous mist, and another flash of lightning brightens the darkened sky, Professor Snape drawls out with an impassive glance at the angry clouds. "So he'll be a Fay then? Are you sure you'll be able to stop him should he prove hostile Headmaster?"

At that statement Hazel widens her eyes and looks over while speaking hurriedly. "What's this about him being a Fay?" Lily, who by this point had walked closer to her daughter once more, lightly tugs on her and ushers her backwards. Now that it was complete, the only thing left was to wait for the still blinding light to die down, and for the guest to arrive. As the two of them retreat to the semi-circle, Lily murmurs into her daughters ear.

"It was just an assumption by the Headmaster dear. He believed that since you are quite obviously part Fay, that your bonded one would end up one as well. Still, this kind of weather, and his presence isn't even here yet? What kind of absurd magic is this exactly?"

Hazel narrows her eyes at her mother while ignoring the wind currently blowing her hair in every direction. "And why wasn't this mentioned to me mother? That seems kind of important you know." She huffs out before squinting up at the storm that appeared out of nowhere. She speaks quietly then. "It was previously overcast, and I know it was supposed to rain lightly… But is one person really capable of changing the weather in an instant like this?"

"It's not that big of a detail love, it just means this person will have extra powers as you can clearly see. The world of magic is big place dear, who knows what secrets it hides? This is just one of them I suppose." Lily speaks calmly then wistfully, admiring the crackle of lightning that appears one final time. Afterwards they turn their eyes towards the blinding light that's beginning to finally dim. Next to them Sirius yelps as the light intensifies dramatically and makes a sound akin to thunder for a split second, before finally dimming completely. In the center of the clearing, sitting directly in the previously mentioned magic circle; sits a figure cloaked in a completely black robe. Said figure is currently sitting cross legged, slumped forward as if asleep. The first thing immediately noticeable, is around him all throughout the clearing, plants are blooming. Literally that is, dozens of flowers are rapidly spreading out from him, as if nature itself is greeting the new arrival. The second thing that only catches the Headmasters' and Moody's notice, clasped in one of the figures hands is a wand completely identical to the one the Light Lord is holding, and with a smile of curiosity he hums once more.

Hazel's eyes open wide as she looks around with a cheerful smile, muttering "How beautiful!" under her breathe lightly. She then gets nudged by her mom to look back towards the figure again, and she notices what her mother was pointing at. The figure, still presumably passed out and hunched over, has dark black hair that seems slightly messy. He also has pointed ears that are quite distinguishable, and with a jolt she realizes they're slightly longer than her own. The wind that was previously raging furiously slowly begins to stop as the figure clothed in black stirs. He yawns once before moving, lightly grunting and getting up with his eyes closed. He casually stretches upwards as around him, people immediately notice things about him his slumped figure hid previously. First of all, he stood at roughly 5'10, and now that they could see it clearly; his hair was singed, and he had a face very similar to a certain Potter. Secondly, along his arms and legs that peaked out from his cloak, light burns were noticeable everywhere, a few more severe than others. And thirdly, as Padfoot begins to guffaw loudly, Remus smiles curiously, and Severus grimaces in annoyance, bright glowing green eyes open and stare around the clearing rapidly.

He doesn't focus on anyone in particular, he just scans their faces momentarily before settling on the Light Lord in front of him, wand still in hand. He sighs while stretching once more, muttering under his breath aware everyone could hear him. "Bloody hell that trip was awful, I hate being forced unconscious… And my magic hates it as well." He waves a hand casually, the wind completely stopping and the storm, once pouring heavily, comes to a light drizzle. Afterwards, completely ignoring the wide eyes aimed towards him along with Moody's glare, he looks at Dumbledore fondly and begins to speak once more.

"Sorry about that Headmaster, whenever I'm forced unconscious my magic tends to react quite violently. It wasn't so bad as I was prepared for the trip beforehand, nonetheless I doubt you appreciated the lightning. Hmm, it's interesting that you're doing this ritual in private, last time…" He trails off, glancing once more towards a few distinct faces. The observant few would notice flashes of pain as he looks at Sirius and Remus, and the way his eyes completely avoid the two sets of green eyes oh so similar to his own. Said eyes were locked onto him for separate reasons. Lily Potter was devouring his appearance while idly wondering if this was the son she always wanted, while Hazel Potter was oggl-, ah admiring his appearance as her heart flutters at his presence.

He looks back at Dumbledore, who smiles genially and speaks broadly. "Welcome my boy, and it's perfectly understandable that your magic reacted that way. No harm was done. Now then, I believe I owe you an apology, an introduction, and an explanation; however from your previous statement, am I to believe you're already informed?"

"Yes Headmaster, this is the second time I've been through this particular ritual, and it was just as unpleasant the last time. No apology is necessary, I'm assuming this dimension needs someone to take care of Tom Riddle as well?" He speaks reassuringly, then slightly bitterly as Dumbledore smiles sadly in turn. He sighs once, wearily sticking his wand into its holster on his arm while reaching his other out, seemingly into a hole in space. He rummages around slightly, before humming as he grabs onto something. He pulls 3 vials out, rolling his eyes as Moody stiffens slightly, and walks forward, handing them towards Dumbledore whose eyes widen when he recognizes them. "Here, 3 vials of powdered Ancient Dragon Bones. I know they're ridiculously expensive, and notoriously hard to find on the market. If it took you as long as the previous Dumbledore, then I imagine you searched for these for a long time huh? As for introductions… My name is Harry Potter, Prophecy Child and the Last of the Fey. Pleased to meet you."

Dumbledore smiles in appreciation at the vials before clearing his throat while gesturing to Hogwarts Castle. "Thank you young Harry, shall we go to my office? I believe we have much to discuss, in particular, the previous time you were summoned and the events that took place afterwards. I'm assuming you recognize everyone here?" He speaks, as the small crowd begins to leave. Harry glances towards them all again, as Sirius and Tonks wink towards him before leaving. Remus nods and smiles in greetings, while Professor Snape whispers something towards him quietly before leaving along with Professor McGonagall. Moody on the other hand, decides to follow them from behind, due to his paranoia probably.

Harry Potter smiles resignedly and speaks. "Yes for the most part, I recognize everyone's faces… All except for one." He trails off as he stops in his tracks a few feet away from a girl so beautiful he was surprised she was real. She was roughly 5'6, and she had long black hair. Her face was delicate and perfectly feminine, with no blemishes. Her body was very shapely, and even through Hogwarts baggy robes; her figure inflamed passions he never knew he possessed. Honestly speaking, there wasn't many things that could stop him in his tracks completely. Voldemort? Bring it on. Dimension travel? Far too common. Strange colored birds? A nuisance to be honest. But as he stares into a set of eyes that match his exactly, two identical expressions of surprise face each other. And with a jolt, he wonders if he has finally found a home.

Notes: That's the end of Chapter 3, hope you liked it. Thanks for the comments and encouragement, they do help. Please like, comment, review, give power stones etc. Thanks for those who have continued to read, even though the tags probably put many off reading it lol. Anyway, a word of warning. While's there's not going to be an actual sex-scene anytime soon, there will be quite a few naughty parts sooner rather than later. I have a few minor reasons for putting them in, and one underlining large one that will only be revealed later. So if they seem constantly horny as time goes by, well they are and they have reasons they are. I cross-posted this on webnovel and wattpad under my usernames: Dragon_Fighter_T and TravisWhite1997 respectively. If you don't like, don't bother reading. I finished this chapter before the 1 week mark, as I currently have a decent amount of free time, so I am going ahead and posting it.
