She ventured out of her room and down to the second floor. Most of the gang members who lived there were asleep this time of day, a few others were playing cards or pool. She saw someone coming toward her from the opposite end of the hallway.
"Hey, do you know where Bo Davis is today?" she asked the passerby.
"Yeah, he just came in. He's in room five, down the hall on the left," he said as he passed her in the hall.
She turned around and headed back down the other way until she came to room five. She stopped in front of the door and stood there, her face flushed, her palms sweating.
She raised her hand to knock and hesitated. She had to face Bo sometime. It may as well be now. She raised her hand again and knocked on the door.
