"Work. There's always work that consumes me and takes over my life."
"Is that what you want? Do you like that?" Lisa asked while staring at him. He had a hard time facing her.
"No, but it's something I have to do, to finish."
"So, you haven't finished it?" Lisa asked running her hands through her hair and pushing it to the other side of her head.
"That's right, but that's only short-termed. We've developed a plan, and as soon as it's implemented it will all be over, hopefully."
"I'm so happy for you," Lisa said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Why are you so angry with me? We've worked hard to get this far. I'd think you'd be happy to hear it's about over."
"What's over? Us? Our relationship? You've gotten what you came here for, haven't you? Otherwise we never would have connected again, would we?" Her face was red with fury, hands fisted at her waist, staring at his beautiful eyes.
