Chapter 56: Rescue, Part 1

"Mama! Sissy!" Timmy screamed, as tears streamed down his face.

Groggy, I rolled over and rubbed his back. "Timmy," I gently cooed. "Timmy, wake up. You're having a nightmare." He was crying in his sleep, but within a few minutes, he rolled over and went back to sleep.

I covered him over and looked out the window. It was still pitch black outside. I wasn't sure what time it was, but it was early. Hopefully, I would be the only one in the house awake, allowing me to think properly.

I checked Timmy once more, but he was sound asleep, although the look on his face was far from peaceful. Carefully, I got up out of bed and dressed into a pair of comfortable jeans, T-shirt, and a light sweater, then slowly opened the door. I looked down the hallway. Dark. Good.
