Chapter 39: Seth's Return, Part 2

Seth nodded, and then said firmly, looking Colin squarely in the eye, "Yes."

"All right, then," Colin said, nodding and lost in thought. "That is what I needed to hear. Let's get to work then."

Seth's expression was one of confusion. "What was that all about?"

"You love her and that's enough. I know that, if you are like me, you would move mountains for the woman you love." Colin grabbed him into a tight hug, ruffling his hair. "Welcome back."

"Thanks, Da...," Seth was about to say "Dad," but he stopped himself, thinking better of it. "Thanks, Colin." He thought that Colin probably wasn't ready for that yet.

"Do not thank me yet," Colin warned, "for the training has not yet begun. I want you to work hard, and do everything I say. And I do mean everything, and without question. Can you do that?"

"Absolutely," Seth replied with a new found strength in his voice.

"We shall see," Colin said with a grin as he guided Seth back into the house with his arm around his neck.
