Chapter 41: Seth's Return, Part 4

As Seth poured a scoop of horse feed into the feed bin in the first horse's stall, Kirlin leaned his head over the adjoining stall and gently pushed Seth's shoulder with his muzzle and snorted. Seth looked over his shoulder, and Kirlin's eyes were sad and forlorn as he snorted and pawed the ground with his right front hoof.

"I know, boy," Seth said as he rubbed his nose. "Briana will be home soon."

Kirlin snorted again, and then shook his head from side to side.

"I know, we have to go get her," Seth said as Kirlin nodded his head up and down in agreement. "But don't worry. I'll bring her home soon."

Kirlin nodded grandly and then impatiently pawed the ground with his right front hoof with more force.

"Hey," Seth said. "Don't be like that. I'm working on it. Keep your shirt on."

Kirlin cocked his head to the side, confused.

"It means to be patient." Seth laughed. "You're too smart for your own good."
