Chapter 103: Colin, Part 1

"You swine! How long do you plan to keep me cooped up in here?!" Colin yelled from within his metal cage, running his fingers through his dark brown, wavy hair that just touched his shoulders. His prison wasn't big enough to stand up in and barely big enough to stretch out across. Colin could sit up, but standing was out of the question. He felt like a caged animal, awaiting a sentence ... or slaughter.

"Be quiet, you!" an ugly guard with bad breath and long, stringy hair answered, hitting the side of his cage. Colin was unmoved.

"Leave him alone!" a pretty girl with long, light brown hair answered.

"Why? Would you like to take his place, my pretty?" Bad Breath asked, advancing toward her.

Immediately, she lifted a pitch fork and pointed it at him. She had been using it to pitch hay to the horses. "Do not even think of it," the beauty replied, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. "That is, unless you wish to lose an eye."
