Chapter 34: He Swore At His Mother

JETT'S POV:

When my eyes land on Clover, I'm flooded with relief. The panic that I'd first felt at the idea that she's leaving because of me, because of what I said, because I love her, finally beginning to ease.

I push through the crowds towards her only to be pulled back.

The others have gathered together a short distance from where Clover is sitting. Nash has his hand on my shoulder.

"Creed is talking to her," he tells me.

Mrs Levon is standing with Jasper, her assistant, making what looks to be awkward conversation with Ziggy and Rigby. She's the only one that looks completely oblivious to the tension that seems to permeate off the group.

"What's going on?" I ask.

Mrs Levon is the one to respond. "Apparently my children have no manners."

Stepping towards me and taking my arm, she continues, "Jett, you'll never believe what Creed just did."

She pauses for dramatic effect. It's pure Mrs Levon. She's always been like that, even when we were all little kids.
