Anyone would think you're in a rush, Armel's thoughts tugged at the corner of her mind.
I am, she replied.
Well, I'm not. He stopped walking, turning her to face him, causing the entire party to stop. "Take a break everyone," he said, his voice dripping with authority.
Why? I don't want to stop.
For one thing, I'm in no rush to share you, he told her unapologetically, and second, our baby wants a rest.
Her hand automatically went to her belly. "You don't know that."
"There's no rush," he said firmly. "We will get there soon." Turning her around in his arms, so that he was now stood directly behind her, arms wrapped around her waist, he pointed in the direction they were traveling. "Can you see the city?"
Bae looked but all she could see was clouds in the distance. The road looked endless and she was certain they wouldn't make it there before nightfall.
"You're wrong," Armel told her before dropping a kiss to her cheek. "Two hours, tops."
