Aunt Ji smiled brightly at her niece. "You must be tired after your journey," she said as she led them through the doors of the palace. "You can rest this afternoon before your welcome feast."
"There's no time," Bae responded. "I need to see the Prophetic Scholars.
"Does it need to be done today?" Ji asked.
"I think so," Bae replied, unwilling to budge. Her mind had been made up back in Shiro.
"You're so much like your mother," Aunt Ji said, a subtle smile playing at her lips. "That was the first thing she did when she came to Laoshi too."
"It was?" Bae asked eagerly.
"Yes. She had to know everything, your mother; every prophecy, every theory." Ji's expression grew serious. "I think your mother was convinced that the prophecies were close to realisation." Her eyes curious but her mouth stern, she watched her niece closely.
Bae was about to respond when her aunt said, "I know it's important, Kumari but I think you might need to postpone meeting with the scholars."
"Why?"
