Kumari's Kitsune

Bae was restless. Everyone else was happily eating their dinner as they sat around the campfire, but Bae was struggling to sit still. She wanted to press on but she knew that was no longer an option. The sun had gone down.


Both Armel and Caspet made various attempts to distract the Kumari but neither succeeded. The Kitsune had disappeared into the mountains somewhere and Bae wished she could follow after the Silver Fox instead of sitting cold in one spot.


The fire did little to heat up the air around it. Lei had been sure to dress the Kumari warmly, but Bae was still shivering. Caspet had placed a fleece blanket on Bae's lap and another one around her shoulders. She should have felt snug within the blankets' folds. However, they did nothing to stop the chill that was attacking her face. Her ears felt as if they might fall off and the air that she was breathing in chilled her from the inside out.


"Are you cold, Kumari?" Kori asked as he came to sit down beside her.
