The journey to Kumai took three days. They didn't stop except to sleep and rest the horses. Even though they were just sitting in a carriage, the journey was exhausting, and they were all restless.
The closer they got to Kumai, the more interested Bae became about what was outside the carriage. For several hours a day, she would stare out the window, trying to see Kumai in the distance, even though her father kept telling her that they were still much too far away to see anything of significance.
Now approaching the tribe land, the ground began to soften as their carriage went over green pastures and open meadows. Everything outside was a rich green colour, just as she'd always pictured it to be. The illustrations she'd seen in the books within the castle library had failed to do the scenery justice, but her imagination had somehow filled in the gaps.
