Bae was relieved to have arrived in Kumai and to see her soon to be mate alive and well, but it didn't change the fact that someone had attacked her suitors. The possessive anger she felt was palpable. She could feel it searing through her, as if carried on a current supplied by her magic.
It was even more infuriating that no one seemed to know what had happened or who was responsible. But perhaps worse, they had no way to find out.
She was sitting with her advisors, the Reigning Prince of Kumai at her side, as they told her everything they'd been able to find out. Bae felt almost guilty that while she'd been hidden away in her bedchamber with her mates all night, her advisors had been hard at work. That guilt was only worsened by the fruitlessness of their work. If only they'd found those culpable, it wouldn't have been time wasted.
"There can be no doubt that it was not an accident," Yìwù said confidently.
"How can you be so sure?" Bae asked.
"It wasn't just one fire."
