Uncle Gimu came to sit beside her.
"You have a lot of worries, child," he said matter-of-factly, his usually jokey nature now serious.
Glancing at the Reigning Prince, she nodded her head once.
"It's a shame. Your mother so hoped that you wouldn't be the prophesied one."
His words hit Bae. People rarely willingly offered her information about the prophecies. She wanted to ask him to tell her more, but she was scared that would cause him to pause.
"Your mother feared that the time was coming when magic would be at risk," he continued thoughtfully. "She said that magic, the Kitsune, it might truly all be lost. Bae, she would be very proud of you, if she were to see you now."
"I don't know why. I've done nothing yet."
"But you're prepared to, willing to. The whole of Mah? knows that you're willing to allow exploration beyond the realm. That is huge."
"I think I'll have to go myself," Bae told him the one thing she hadn't even been able to tell her mates.
"Do you?"
