Landon's POV:
When I leave the cemetery, everything inside me wants to go straight to Aurora's so that I can fix what I've broken.
I sit in my car wondering what I would say to her if I went around to her apartment and it hits me, I have no idea what I'd say. I don't know how to fix this. I don't even know if I can.
So instead of acting rash, I ask Henry to take me home. On the way there, I call Abby, Melody's old friend.
"Hey Abs," I say to her voicemail. "I need a favour. Will you be my date to mum's charity thing tonight? Anyway, call me."
Abby is a good friend. She'll listen to me moan and complain about another girl. She became like a sister to me after the crash. I'd felt a strong need to protect her. She was a part of Melody, a part of Melody's life that had to be cherished.
My phone rings as I enter my apartment, half an hour later.
"Hey Landon!"
"Hi."
Her voice makes me smile. She is the sort of person who makes you smile even when you are miserable.
