Chapter 75: You Should Keep Him

As she leads us into the house, Ella whispers in my ear, "I like him... You should keep him."

"Yes Ella." I give her a quick hug. "I love you."

"Your family are in the living room, Miss Aurora," Ella grins, using my full name in case my mother hears, "even Miss Aileen is here."

"Mother must be thrilled." I wink at her. Landon is watching me closely. "What?"

"I knew you were an angel," he says quietly. "When we have a family," he says it as if it's a done deal. It's not that it scares me, I just don't know if I'm ready for that. "We're getting a housekeeper, and you're going to make sure our kids love her the way you love Ella."

"Can't we just steal Ella?" I laugh at his silliness. "The reason I love Ella is because of who Ella is, not because of who I am. She might even be partly responsible for me being the angel you delude yourself I am."

"I'm not deluded," he laughs, "I see you perfectly, and I love everything I see."
