"Hey." Aileen is stood on the doorstep with a bag in her hand and a massive grin on her face. She lifts the bag. "I brought food."
I can't help the smile that crosses my face in response.
"I love Subway. Did you get extra gherkins?"
"No duh," Aileen smiles.
I take the bag from her and lead her into the apartment. We enter the kitchen.
"Do you want a drink?" I ask as I plate up our sandwiches.
"Sure, some water would be good," she nods her head as she looks around. "It's nice here, isn't it?"
"I forgot," I laugh, "you haven't seen the apartment yet."
"Where's Landon?" she asks, taking a seat at the breakfast bar.
"In the shower," I reply. "Sparkling water?"
"Yes please," she grins, pulling one of the plates towards her. "So, mum's a b*tch."
I laugh happily, trust Aileen to sum everything up so overly simply.
"Yeah, mum's a b*tch," I agree even though I know neither of us really mean it.
"So, she just barged in and had at you?" Aileen asks.
