I take a deep breath, trying to psych myself up to going next door.
I have no choice; I remind myself.
When I enter his office, Stephen is reading the files as I'd asked him to. He looks up.
"I've put them into two piles; the ones I've read so far, I mean."
I nod.
"These ones seem pretty self-explanatory, but these ones could use a bit of an explanation if that's okay."
"Sure..."
I pick up the first folder and begin explaining it to him. It's a bit random, the selection of accounts he's gained. Andrew and Landon had requested that I swap out some of the more key accounts, like the Stone account for a few of my own smaller accounts.
Landon is very protective of his long-standing clients; not to mention that Stone Publishing belongs to his soon to be father-in-law.
After a few minutes, he must get bored or something because he yawns and gives me a grin.
"So the COO is your boyfriend?"
He leans back in his chair and extends his arms behind his head.
