Chapter 238: The Happiest Months of My Life

Kenneth's POV:

Paris, 1983

The months that immediately followed the discovery of Michelle's pregnancy were perhaps the happiest of my life. I searched for a more financially viable job and Michelle worked hard to get ahead in her studies. We balanced those things with trying to get our home ready for our unborn child.

For the most part, the initial stress of finding out about the pregnancy had faded and we settled into a new routine, one rich with excitement and a hint of trepidation.

We'd managed to avoid going home to England for the Christmas season, both of us still unsure exactly what we planned to tell our parents. Michelle's parents had been particularly disappointed as she'd already refused to return home the previous month to celebrate her twenty-first birthday.
