Jarrod's POV:
She isn't my girlfriend but at least we're a step closer.
As I drove Tallulah home last night, we made plans to go for coffee. It's not much and it definitely feels like we're going backwards, but I don't resent her for it. I'll take whatever I can get, so long as she's in my life.
I'm currently sitting at my desk, trying to get the final details of the launch pinned down. My phone rings and a quick look at the screen has me pulling back in surprise.
Ayden Peters is ringing me.
We haven't spoken since we found out that we're brothers and I'm not sure I'm prepared to have this conversation right now. I dither. I consider not accepting the call but seriously...
He's the kid, not me. Get a grip.
"Hi," I say as I swipe my finger on the screen, answering the call.
"Hi." That's it. That's all he says.
I'm not sure how to respond. He's the one who called me. I don't know what to say but apparently neither does he.
