He's already ready...
For days I can think of little else than the fact that if I wanted to get married right now, Jarrod Thorpe would marry me.
I'm not completely sure why it surprises me so much. He's always been about ten steps ahead of me.
I should be focused on my final exam. My masters is almost over but all I can think about is Jarrod and marriage and children and the future. It's weird because until recently those weren't things that were even on my radar. It wasn't that long ago that I was telling Jarrod not to let me love him, making him promise in fact.
Aurora notices my distraction one day in the canteen. I'm covered in paint, having been working on a painting just before lunch.
"What's up with you?" she says with a laugh. "I don't think you've heard anything I've said at all."
"Sorry," I say, giving myself a shake.
She shrugs her shoulders. "No worries. Want to talk about it?"
