World War II ended over four years ago for Joe Martinson and when he returned home to his little Indiana town, he hoped to forget the past and move on, but if you ask his father Henry, Joe never moved on and all he does is hide from the world behind the lens of his camera.
Joe is convinced he can exist in his quiet, uncomplicated life, burying the memory of all he faced, that is until he comes face to face with Elizabeth Thompson, his one true love from long ago.

Lost Sunrise

On Thursday Joe headed to Elizabeth's office as he usually did those days hoping to steal her away from her work if only for a few minutes. As he rounded the corner to her work area, he was surprised to see Mark walking out. Joe wasn't sure why it had surprised him as Mark had taken to hanging around Elizabeth and the secretary team a lot those days. It didn't seem to make a difference when Joe showed up, Mark always seemed to be there.Joe tried not to let it bother him as he didn't want too upset Elizabeth, but it had started to grate at him, and it was getting harder for him to hide. 


As Joe walked down the hall he watched as Mark rounded the corner and disappeared out of sight. Joe paused for a moment outside Elizabeth's office, taking a deep breath, as he tried to swallow his irritation. When he finally stepped into Elizabeth's doorway, he found her sitting at her desk. She looked up as she heard Joe enter and her face lit up.
