Chapter 54: Emma - Three Months Later

Emma stood in the pavilion, looking up to the glass walls of the building. She shifted the binder she carried under her arm as she studied the large windows in front of her. The front of the building seemed to have no ending, as the windows reached up toward the heavens and blended in with the sky above. She looked away from the windows and turned to the display case behind her. Emma studied the photos in the case, and as she looked at the young men and women in them, she felt a strange connection to each of them, as if she knew them.

Steven walked up next to her and put his hand on her shoulder. He peered into the case and then turned and looked back toward the doors to the office where the curator for the museum worked.

"They told her we were here, right?"

Emma looked up from the pictures and back toward the doors. "They know we are here. She'll be out soon enough."
