Chapter 63

The Dragon Princess popped in and quickly changed into her human form at the edge of the woods, just out of sight of the house. She knew Hanako-san was aware of her dual nature, but tried not to think about it. She'd seen Renko as a dragon when Renko's father had rescued them all from the DaiTengu when Renko alone couldn't best it. Renko hadn't assumed human form, but her father's thundering words had made it clear exactly who and what she was. Introducing her as Princess Renko, when she met Hanako formally as a girl, though correct, made the connection, Renko would have thought, obvious. Yet Hanako seemed not to notice, though it was clear she was somewhat wary. Now that Renko knew she was simply mute they were establishing a better relationship, and Renko didn't want to jeopardize that. Renko was nervous and frightened herself. She made sure her kimono was tidy and took a deep breath.
