Azuki left Tsuruko's house at dawn, riding Blackie. The big horse was anxious to see his foal and Azuki was comfortable riding him, so they made good time. After greeting Hanako, Azuki went to her workroom to look at her marvelous new machine.
She examined it and petted and stroked it almost as if it were alive. She didn't have to depend on her friends for help; she didn't have to be overwhelmed. Anko's "tu-ru-so" would be ready in plenty of time. She could send her wares to Tokyo and make sure Aunt had a proper wardrobe, all with time to spare! Maybe she could even make Shota the Western Suit she knew he wanted in time for Anko's wedding! With this steam-powered loom, she felt she could do anything!
