REFLECTION of WARD COURIER, Continued

That trick in the hot tub was an act of such total scorn and manipulation that it was fascinating in itself. That was the coup de grce once the questions about me were answered, this one the blow of disgust that made sure it would be me who was so outraged with Lys that I no longer wanted her. It was a stroke of brilliance. A spy, after all, didn't need stalkers. How many times - as the designated hottie - had Lys been through the same scenario?
Trying to get me interested that summer night after she knew I had seen what she did - knowing I would hear of it later anyway - was surely another example of the edge-dancing behavior, probably just to see if she could. Doing a thing like that to a guy who had never tried to be anything but good to her was an expression of something I couldn't figure out.
