EPISODE with JASON "SWINGO" JONAS
January, 2010
PORO PORO, PERU
Toting his pack, Jason Jonas hops out of a small van at the outskirts of a village at the end of day and steps into a cantina. Its functional tables look like four-tops in American school cafeterias. Most of its patrons are Native Peruvian men in T-shirts and baseball hats. Several look up briefly and noncommittally.
Jonas scans the room, sides up to the table serving the drinks, and orders a bottled beer, a Crystal, by tapping an empty forty-ouncer beside him. The new one comes out, a small glass beside it. He stands, sips, and texts.
