EPISODE with JASON "SWINGO" JONAS
January, 2010
Near BAMBAMARCA, PERU
The sky is bright overhead, but the sun has dropped behind the mountains. Jonas and Aguirre pace side by side, leading their animals.
"You knew we were going to a Moche site?" says Aguirre. "You know anything about the Moche?"
"Had four hours at a crossroads," says Jonas, waving his sheeny cell phone. "Nothing to do but study." He looks ahead. "Weird culture."
"Weird," says Aguirre. "That's a good word for it. I've been to some of their sites. The Moche are big business on the coast. Trujillo. Chiclayo."
"Some ritual involving throat-slashing," says Jonas. "En masse."
"Cool guys," says Aguirre.
"So what did they tell you the professor found?"
