Author, teacher, storyteller, and supernatural historian Mason Winfield studied English and Classics at Denison University, earned a master’s degree in British literature at Boston College, and studied poetry and fiction at SUNY Buffalo with professor emeritus and MacArthur grant recipient Irving Feldman. As we drove north along the Niagara I felt a sense of escalating panic. Every mile things looked more disturbed, as if the immediate human and natural environment could sense a disruption in the global one. Traffic in our direction thinned. The few cars on the other side roared past us and looked like a migration. Maybe it was my imagination.
