“Why don’t we stop and get something to eat on the way home?” Ari asked Grayson on the way back to the castle. It was funny that she had never thought of his townhouse as her home. But the castle was now her home. Probably because the townhouse he shared with Dima, but the castle was where she and Grayson began their life together.
Grayson sighed. “With everything that’s been going on in the village, I don’t want to keep you away from the castle for too long. I can protect you there.”
Ari shrugged. “I thought we could spend some time alone together and maybe I could see a bit of the town.”
“Yes, but firebombed businesses and burning cars isn’t at the top of my list of sights to see.” Grayson made another turn.
Ari chuckled. “Believe it or not, I haven’t seen much of the town since I moved here.” Ari shrugged. “I just thought that we could spend some time alone together.”
Grayson sighed. “What would you like?”
Ari gave a little squeal of delight. “Surprise me.”
