the start of everything

╰┈➤ ❝the start of everything❞

What could go wrong, when you are walking in a dark forest all alone? There is no way anyone would be there, right? Well, that is what Wooyoung kept saying to himself as he was walking down a small path in a forest. There was no one nearby. Wooyoung was all alone in the dark and scary forest. What was he doing? No one knows. He was the only one with the answer to that question.

While Wooyoung was walking, he was listening to the small sounds that were coming from the rustling leaves or small animals, like birds. It was calming to him. Everyone else would ask, why on earth would he be walking in a dark forest all alone in the middle of the night.

Well, that's because he was him. He liked walking in dark, scary, big forests all alone in the middle of the night. Of course, there is another reason, but he didn't really want to talk or think about it right now. He just wanted to concentrate in this moment of silence.

As Wooyoung was getting closer to his destination, it was also getting colder and colder by every minute. He didn't bring his jacket with him, because he thought he wouldn't need it, but the weather proved him wrong. He was shivering. It was colder than he thought, but he ignored the cold, because he didn't really care at this point.

He's had it worse in his life. Every day, he's had to endure living with his parents. They didn't care about him and he didn't care about them either anymore. It was as simple as that.

Wooyoung was alone all the time. His parents were never home, and they just left for long periods of time to somewhere else. They didn't tell him their destination, they just simply left him all alone in that big, dark house. Wooyoung didn't have any friends either. School was hell for him, and he didn't really want to go there anymore.

Everyone would laugh at him and bully him for the most stupidest things they could find from him. Every day, he would eat his lunch in the bathroom, which was a bit disgusting, because the bathrooms weren't the most cleanest ones in the whole world.

Today was one of the many days Wooyoung went to the forest to calm himself down. His parents weren't at home as usual, but enough of that for now. He was getting closer to his destination. The path was getting thinner and it was harder to see due to the lack of light.

Wooyoung didn't mind though. He stopped to look at the bench he almost walked past by. The paint was withering away, brown pits of paint on the ground next to the bench.

Wooyoung continued to walk down the narrow path. As he was walking, the forest got a little misty. It was even more harder to see due to the thick mist around him. He had never seen anything like this. It felt abnormal, even.

He saw an old house up ahead. Finally, he had arrived at the destination. It was his little spot. There was a small river next to the little house, where he usually sat down, and that's what he did this time too. Wooyoung sat on a big rock and watched the water whirl on its own.

It was peaceful.

It was beautiful.

There was a small lamp post next to the house, which illuminated the area a little so Wooyoung could see the river. There was a small stream next to the river. It was covered in small flowers. He watched as the water moved the flowers in sync. He didn't want to return to his own house.

The hell would begin all over again.

The mist was getting thicker by every minute. It scared Wooyoung a little because he had never seen anything like this. Eventually he thought he should go inside the house to sleep, but he decided to stay for a little bit longer. When the mist was getting really thick, Wooyoung finally got up from the rock, taking his first step towards the house.

Suddenly, he heard something from the water. The river's current became more wild and he could see the waves forming on the surface. The sound of the waves hitting the shore was calming, but Wooyoung was still intrigued. He decided to take a closer look, even though he probably shouldn't have, considering it was pretty dangerous and the water was getting wilder and wilder by every second.

The waves got more rough and water was spilling on the nearby grass, Wooyoung's shirt getting a little wet from the water that spilled everywhere. When he finally looked down at the raging waves it suddenly started to sound like someone or something was humming a calming song. Like someone was humming a song to him, trying to reassure that everything would be alright.

The waves had calmed down and water was no longer being thrown everywhere on land. Wooyoung took a deep breath and sat back on the bigger rock, closing his eyes as he listened to the water that moved with the currents.

It sounded beautiful.

The whole moment was eerily beautiful.

He decided to listen to the mysterious humming for a while. It calmed him down, after all. But then the song stopped. Being a little disappointed that the forest was quiet again, he opened his eyes and tilted his head in confusion. It was quiet again, only the leaves rustling in the orange trees, some of the falling to the ground.

Wooyoung decided that now was a good time to get up and go inside. The mist was surrounding the area with a thick white hue, making him shiver from the almost magical scene in front of him. Before he could take another step, he saw something.

Wooyoung was sure he saw a pair of glowing eyes in the mist, watching his every move. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, focusing his eyes at the thick mist. But the eyes had disappeared as fast as they had appeared.

Did he just see someone in the mist? He took a step closer, and when he did, he saw it. There seemed to be a tall figure standing in the middle of the thick mist. He didn't see it clearly, and was not facing him yet. Maybe it hadn't noticed him. Maybe Wooyoung should run. Or should he?

He decided to get up and leave the figure alone, but of course that didn't work. The figure noticed him and Wooyoung noticed it, since the figure was getting closer to him as he was on the edge of the river, almost falling into the dark depths of the water.

The figure was slowly approaching him, as if it was examining him. Wooyoung took a step back but realized it was already too late. He was already falling into the river because of that one little step he took.

He closed his eyes, waiting for the big splash. As his body hit the water, it felt cold and nice. His clothes got wet, sticking to his skin and at the same time Wooyoung was sinking deeper into the depths of the river. He was losing his consciousness, slowly, as he sunk deeper and deeper.

Just when he was about to pass out, he felt the water vibrate and opened his eyes briefly, seeing a figure getting closer to him. It wrapped its arms around Wooyoung and started to swim towards the surface. Wooyoung gave up and finally closed his eyes and lost consciousness.
